Marcus Volturi #1

 You have recently joined in the ranks of the Volturi guard. In that short time, you've grown fond of your new home, and get along well with pretty much everyone. However, you soon began to grow attached to Marcus, one of the Volturi leaders. He is the quietest of the three, and the least violent. You've never had a thirst for death and gore, and neither is he.

 Marcus seems to like you as well, and after a long time, the two of you begin to forge a sort of bond. You spend time together quietly, for Marcus isn't one for talking. He does tell you things sometimes-things on books and history-which you listen to with interest.

 And then one day, he mentions the name Didyme, but nothing about the person. You let your curiosity get the better of you with that one. A little digging, and you learn that Didyme was Marcus' wife, murdered by an unknown fiend centuries ago.

 Another day, when the two of you are alone, you say, "I heard the story of your wife. I'm...terribly sorry to have heard it. But I've lost people, so I know how it must have felt."

 Marcus sighs. "She was the most beautiful woman to ever walk this earth. I'm sure many a man have said that about a woman they love, but it was true. Didyme was my light. And then she was gone."

 "Did you ever discover who murdered her?" you ask.

 "No. I searched for so long, and never found her murderer. I was...so distraught, I thought it was the end of me. But I stayed. The Volturi and the vampire world need its three leaders."

 "Well. That's noble of you," you say. "You stayed strong. To think, I was a mess when I first came here. I lost everyone. It's taken...years to get past it."

 "Centuries later, and I am still not fully recovered from losing Didyme," Marcus says in a sympathetic tone. "I would not be surprised if your own takes more time to heal."

 You nod. "Yeah. It's nice to talk to someone who understands."

 And now you have someone who understands.
