Chapter 71; Genders & Family

"When are they coming?" Kate asked me as I placed down a bowl filled with candy.

"Most likely in an hour. Ethan is going to text me when they're on their way. I told him not before 3pm so let's hope they won't return before that," I said, knowing that my mom was a bit cranky the past days and wasn't really into leaving the house for more than a couple hours.

Suddenly, someone covered my eyes and I shrieked not expecting that.

"Who is that?" I asked, trying to get the pair of hands away from my face.

I managed to escape and turned around to see Harry grinning at me. "Harold!" I exclaimed and hugged him tightly. "Hey Miles, look who I brought along," he said and pointed to someone behind him.

"Anne," I smiled at Harry's mother before also giving her a big hug.

"Hey darling, the decoration looks lovely," she complimented and looked around to see all the balloons, snacks and all that stuff.

"Thank you. C'mon I'm going to introduce you two to everyone," I said and grabbed both their hands before introducing them to Kate, Elias, Ted, Peter, Margarete & Eli. The second Milo saw Harry he ran towards him and hugged his legs before Harry picked him up.

Lauren, Andre & Theo were also here, chatting along with everyone else. Lauren is heavily pregnant by the way and is due in just three weeks but she didn't want to miss the gender reveal party for the triplets so she flew down here with Andre & Theo.

I felt someone's arms wrapping around me from behind and the person placed a light kiss on my shoulder, making me smile. Of course, Shawn was here too.

"I'm so excited," I said, turning around and looking up into Shawn's eyes.

"Me too, actually. I hope three boys," Shawn chuckled, making me role my eyes. "I would be okay with anything but I'm hoping for two boys and one girl," I grinned, already imagining how cute they're going to be no matter what gender.

"So many baby's in this big family," I chuckled and looked around the place that was filled with all the people that I loved.

My phone beeped and I looked at the screen to see that Ethan had texted me.

On our way. Won't take long 15min max.!

I replied with a simple 'okay' and announced that they were on their way. Shawn & I joined everyone else and ten minutes later Kate yelled that the car pulled into the drive way.

Ethan saw us and smiled widely before turning to my mom and saying, "C'mon babe let's sit down in the garden."

"And what the hell do you expect me to do there? Mowing the lawn?" my mother said, sarcastically. Everyone tried to hold back their laughter as we waited for them to come into the garden.

"Will you come if I tell you there's a surprise waiting for you?" we heard Ethan asking.

"To be honest, no because first of all your surprises suck like seriously who surprises their pregnant girlfriend with a pan and secondly I want to eat."

No way! Ethan really surprised her with a pan?

I laughed, quietly just like everyone else and I whispered to Asher & Milo that they should go and get her. They ran towards them and I heard my mom, asking what they were doing here alone.

Moments later they came around the corner and we all screamed 'SURPRISE!'.

"Oh my god," mom said and tears filled her eyes. I quickly went to her and pulled her into a hug. "Hey baby girl, I missed you."

"I missed you, too mom. This is your gender reveal party," I grinned happily, making her hug me tighter. "Thank you so much," she whispered, clearly happy that we arranged that for her.

I let go of her and hugged Ethan who had me hang over his shoulder in just a few seconds, taking me completely by surprise. I laughed loudly, begging him to let me down.

"I think this troublemaker belongs to you," Ethan said and handed me over to Shawn.

"Well, you're going to have three more of me," I called after him and his eyes widened before he started laughing along with me.

While everyone was having a conversation Shawn & I played with Asher since Milo was clutching onto Harry the moment he got here.

"Alright! I guess it's time now to reveal the gender, isn't it?" Kate asked and pulled me, mom & Ethan with her to a table which had three bottles standing on there.

Everyone gathered around us as each of us stood behind a bottle. "Basically, you'll just light up the little string right on the top and the color of the smoke will tell you the gender of Baby A, B & C," Kate explained to us.

I didn't know that I was involved in the reveal but I was really happy to finally find out the gender since I wasn't allowed to know and only Kate knew the gender and organized the bottles while I had organized the decoration and planned the whole thing.

Almost everyone pulled out their phones and started recording as they counted down the time to when Ethan was going to reveal the gender of Baby A.

Ethan lit up the little string and first there was white smoke before it suddenly turned into blue.

A brother!

Everyone cheered, yelled and hugged each other before we went on with Baby B. "Girl!" Margarete yelled, making me chuckle. "C'mon another boy!" Evan laughed as they all yelled their guesses.

My mother lit up the string and the white smoke quickly turned blue, yet again.

Just like before everyone cheered and Margarete, Anne & Lauren chanted 'Girl' over and over again. I locked eyes with everyone for a split second before pressing my thumb down on the lighter.

I lit the small string and the white smoke emerged from the bottle before it turned...PINK.

Two brothers and one sister!

Margarete, Lauren & Anne went to hug my mother and all the guys congratulated Ethan. I grinned widely and hugged my mother too before hugging Ethan as well. He kissed me on the head and ruffled my hair, making me role my eyes and laugh.

"Two brothers and a sister. How do you feel Miss Carver?" I heard Shawn's voice from behind me. "I'm so happy," I grinned, turning around and wrapping my arms around his torso.

"I'm happy that you're happy," he smiled and pecked my lips right before we were interrupted. "You girls got outnumbered. Take that sister!" Harry said, making a weird hand gesture.

"Well, what about Gemma? We're even you idiot," I said, facepalming. "Gemma doesn't count," Harry rolled his eyes and pouted, making me laugh at him. Theo came and hugged me too before I turned my attention back to Shawn but we were interrupted yet again.

"FAMILY PICTURE!" Kate yelled and told everyone where to stand. I stood between Ethan & my mother who had their arms around me while everyone else was gathered beside and behind us.

Kate quickly ran to get in the picture but her phone already made a click, telling us that it already took the picture. We all laughed before Kate tried again. After many tries later Elias decided to do it and did it first try.

Kate send the picture to all of us and I looked at it, seeing all the happy faces. Shawn was holding Asher on his hip while standing with Harry, who had Milo on his hip and Theo, Eli & Evan. Margarete, Peter, Lauren & Andre stood on the other side where Kate, Elias, Ted & Anne stood. And of course, Ethan, my mother & I stood front and center, smiling widely for the camera as the picture was taken.

I love these people so much and I don't know what I would do without them. Soon four new members will be added to the family and I can't wait for them to get here.
