Chapter 45; Ethan & Speech

"Mila!" I heard Kate calling me as I sat on the guest bed with Asher & Milo with my laptop on my lap.

"Yea?" I asked, hoping she had heard me.

A few seconds later she opened the door and came in, sitting on the bed as well.

"What are you doing?" she asked interested. "I'm doing some shopping and Asher & Milo are helping me picking clothes out," I grinned as Asher & Milo nodded their heads, proudly.

"You have to show me when you're done. By the way, I wanted to tell you that your mom invited us for dinner today. All of us so I expect you to come," she said with a look on her face that said 'don't argue with me'.

"Fine," I muttered and continued scrolling through the American Eagle website. I already spend a lot on Urban Outfitters but I just needed more clothes and I was only buying the clothes that I 100 percent liked. Nothing else.

"How about that one?" I asked the boys as I pointed to a cropped shirt that was not skin on skin but optimal for this weather since it was like 35 degrees (celsius) outside and I felt like I was burning alive.

"Too short," Asher said and yea it was but that's the point.

I told him it was fine and put it in my shopping cart. I mean I was obviously wearing a Calvin Klein bralette under it so it was fine.

Some time later I checked out and bought all the stuff that was in my shopping cart before turning some music on. It was already half past six and we are supposed to go over at seven so we all started helping each other to decide what to wear.

"But I keep on coming back to you!" Kate, Asher, Milo & I sang. Asher & Milo were already dressed in a pair of jean shorts and cool printed t-shirts.

We just now decided for Kate to wear a floral dress and after that we looked through my little options and I ended up wearing jean shorts and a sleeveless blouse.

I didn't want to go over. I wasn't mad at her for being with that Ethan guy but I was mad about the fact that she didn't tell me earlier. She was keeping this from me for months and that kind of hurts to know that she had kept this from me for so long.

Two minutes before seven we made our way to the house next door and just as I had expected Ethan's car was in the driveway.

Just before we arrived I got a text from Andre telling me the details of my flight which would be on June 24th which meant in nine days. At least something I could look forward to.

The door opened and there she stood. My dear, lying mother.

"Oh, I'm so happy you guys came," she said and let us in.

Milo grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. "Kate, how are Elias' parents doing?" I heard a male voice coming from behind me. Of course, Kate knew and didn't bother telling me either.

"Not so great actually," Kate responded and I kneeled down in front of Milo, fixing the collar on his shirt. I heard my mother asking Kate to help her in the kitchen letting me with the boys and Ethan alone.

"Don't you like Ethan?" Milo whispered. "I don't know him yet," I answered honestly.

"Hey boys, how're you guys doing?" The male voice which obviously belonged to Ethan asked.

"Good! Mila is home so really good," Asher told him, enthusiastically. Milo nodded in agreement, making me smile. I love these boys.

"Oh yea, I heard she was home but I can't see her is she that small?" Ethan asked jokingly, making the boys giggle.
