Chapter 16; Schedule & Interview

I opened the app and tapped on tomorrows date.

7am ---> School (end: 9am)
10am ---> Radio Interview + Meeting a Fan who won a contest (end: 10:45am)
12pm ---> Photo shoot (end: 4pm)
6pm ---> Phone Interviews (end: 7:15pm)

"For what is the photo shoot tomorrow?" I asked curiously since I hadn't had a photo shoot for a while. "It's mostly for tour and a few will be send off to magazines," Andre explained to me, making me nod.

I was curious so I checked the schedule for the day after tomorrow as well.

7am ---> School (end: 9am)
10am ---> Meeting with producers for movie song (end: unknown)

Nothing else was written in there probably because they didn't know how long the meeting will be but I'm sure that it won't be the last thing on my schedule for tomorrow.

I went onto my messages and scrolled through recent ones. I replied to a few until I spotted one important message I had almost forgot about.

"Oh my god, Andre I forgot to tell you. While I was at Brenda's I got a message," I grinned and handed him my phone. Lauren looked over his shoulder and read it too. "That's amazing," Lauren said, reading the message faster than Andre.

"That really is amazing but we have to see when you have the time to meet up with them you know? There's a lot of things to do and tour is coming up soon so we'll have to discuss this with Mark."

I knew Andre was right so I immediately went onto my contacts and clicked on the call button next to Mark's name. "You can't wait, can you?" Andre laughed while shaking his head at me. I really couldn't.

"Mark here," he said, picking up after the third ring.

"Jamila here," I mocked him, giggling to myself.

"What gives me the honor at almost ten in the evening?"

"Well, I got a message from The Chainsmokers and they want to collaborate with me and before I answer them Andre told me to ask you first so what do you say?"

"I will have to call their management and see when they are free alright? If you really want to do it then I will see when and text you."

"When will you call them? I really want to know Mark," I was too excited for my own good sometimes.

"If you really want to disturb my lovely evening then I will call right away," he said sarcastically because I knew that he would rather do it tomorrow.

"That's great thanks," I just really wanted to know.

"I'll call you back," and with that he hang up. "He's going to call their management now and then he will call me back," I informed Andre & Lauren with a grin.

It took Mark a whole hour to call me back and Lauren, Andre & I were already home sitting in the living room and watching TV. I wanted to go to bed first thing I came home but I really wanted to know what Mark had to say.

"Mark! So how did it go? What did they say?" I asked excitedly.

"We'll squeeze them into your schedule."

I screamed out of joy and thanked him several times before letting him hang up. You have no idea how excited I was to collaborate with one of my favorite artists. With that being said I went straight to bed to finally sleep.

The next morning I got woken up by my alarm at 6:30am. Casey, my tutor, and I decided that we would do everything over Skype for now because first of all it was really early and second of all I would've felt bad for Andre if he had to get up too to drive me or even if Casey would've got here instead.

Anyways, it was better for everyone to do this over Skype instead.

I went to the bathroom, did my business, washed my face, pulled my hair into a bun and brushed my teeth before making some breakfast for me. After that I ate breakfast in bed and grabbed my laptop and already set everything up before taking one of my notebooks and a pen.

A few minutes before seven I got a Skype call from Casey and I clicked on Video. Soon enough her face appeared on my screen. "Good morning!" she said happily. She was a morning person, obviously.

"Hey," I waved at her.

"Without further ado, let's start with math."

Great.

"We're on air in three, two," someone from behind me counted down until the red light went one, telling me that we were live on air and no matter what I would say a lot of people would hear me.

The interviewer introduced me to the listeners and went right in with the questions. I get asked a lot of questions definitely more than once by different interviewers so I could answer them quicker than others.

"So Jamila out there are fans who were and still are waiting for you since three in the morning, so about seven hours now, just to see you. How do you feel about that?"

"Well, I'm really grateful and I love to see all their faces. I love them with all my heart and I'm so thankful to receive loads and loads of love and support. I couldn't be more thankful," I spoke into the mic that was in front of me.

I seriously cannot believe this.

"Is there any artist you would wait for for seven or more hours?"

"Yea sure, I mean when I was a bit younger I would definitely wait hours for One Direction but since they're on hiatus for god knows how long I don't get the opportunity to let out my inner directioner," I laughed but it was true.

"Also I love Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd so I would do it for sure. I love so many artists to be honest so I probably would've spend my whole life going to concerts and buying loads of merch if I wouldn't have made it into the industry as well."

"I actually got to meet Shawn Mendes a few weeks back I believe. He's a lovely guy," the Interviewer who's name was Lena, told me.

"He is. I met him once at a charity event not long ago but I was so starstruck that I couldn't form a sentence. He even tried to start a conversation but I kind of blew him off and walked away because I felt like I was going to embarrass myself any second if I would've talked to him any longer," I laughed along with Lena who found it quiet amusing.

"Coming to the next question which you basically just answered. Which celebrity made you starstruck when you first met them?"

"Oh, that would be basically everyone. I mean Harry Styles is still laughing at me the way I reacted when I first met him and also like I said Shawn Mendes but apart from them I got really excited when I saw John Legend and David Beckham. I don't have that much stories to tell yet since I'm pretty new and all that but next time I'll come here I hope to have more celebrity stories to tell," I smiled brightly.

"Did you get to talk to them, at all? Or did you just see them?"

"I did talk to Harry or else we wouldn't be friends now but I only got to see John Legend and David Beckham. John was performing a song and David was just there you know at the same event I met Shawn. I was so excited and nervous that I don't even remember everything," I laughed.

"Staying at the topic of other celebrities. Do you know of any one you'll be working with this year? Like any collaborations coming up?"

"Well, you gotta wait and see," I smirked.

"And what about music videos? Will there be a few since you basically just released your debut album?"

"Yea definitely. I don't really know how much I'm allowed to tell you but there may or may not be a new music video some day," I teased and after a few more questions we finished it up and it was time to meet a fan who won a contest from the radio station to meet me.

It was a fourteen year old girl named, Lillian. She was really nice and we did a few pictures, she asked a couple of questions and I signed something for her before I had to leave. On my way out I made as many selfies with fans as I could before jumping into the van and driving to the building where my photo shoot will be.
