Staring at the ceiling in the hospital is not fun. Stupid hospitals and their boring colours. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and I turned to see my boyfriend, Vic.

I smiled, "Hey Vic."

"Hey derpwad," he said, laughing a little. "How's he doing?" I shrugged, "The nurses said he was doing good. I'm kinda nervous though." He put an arm around my shoulder, "That's understandable. I mean, everyone is nervous. Even I'm nervous." I laughed a little, "Thanks Vic."

He smiled at me again, pulling me closer to him, "No problem dipwad." It was silent for a few minutes until he spoke again. "Hey Katelin, you wanna go get a drink?" I nodded, standing up a little too quickly. He caught me just as I was about to fall, though.

"Uh, yeah, it's better that staring at these stupid walls." We started wandering around the hospital and I began to wonder if we were gonna get lost.

After maybe 30 minutes of wandering around the hospital, we didn't find the stupid vending machine. "Admit it Vic, we're lost." He sighed and hung his head in defeat, "Alright, we're lost."

I laughed and tugged his arm, pulling him around the corner. "THERE IT IS!!!" I shouted, running towards it and dragging Vic behind me. "Jesus Katelin, slow down. Or at least stop dragging me behind you!" I turned and laughed, "Sorry Vic, I just really want a drink."

We got the stupid drinks and went back to the waiting room where two military nurses were arguing. The guy had served in the Navy and the girl served in the Air Force. We had come just in time for the roasting because just as we sat down, he said, "You served in the Air Force? I think ya meant the Chair Force! It's nice to see you walking around and doing stuff! I know how hard it was to transition to that."

He walked away and she glared after him before she turned and went around the corner. Vic and I turned to look at each other and he said, "So, where's the beef, because that was a roast." I laughed and he finally broke his poker face and joined me.

I kept watching the nurses anxiously, waiting to see if any of them had any news at all. "Hey, Katelin," Vic began. "Calm down." I glanced at my shaking hands. "I'm sorry Vic, I'm just so scared of losing him." He took my hands in his, looking into my eyes, "Katelin, everything's gonna be ok. You're not gonna lose him today. And even though the possibility is there, darling' you'll be ok."

Hope you like it and I hope you don't mind I used actual things that happened. For all of you that don't know, this is a real situation for my friend and the Navy dude and the Air Force girl was a true thing 😂😂😂
