Ahhhhhhhhh. As I write this, I'm back to being 13 years old, in Year 7 and obsessed with Tetris Blitz, Rodeo Stampede, and my iPad.
In Year 7 Term 3 English, we were learning about films, their techniques, and what exactly makes it interesting. For example, techniques...like a high angle shot, or a close up shot, or a mid shot-I think I've totally forgotten all of these, so I'm going to dig deep back into those files to find anything to relearn them again.
We studied a movie called "Coraline", which I actually liked. The scary theme really got to me and learning it just uncovered all its secrets. Like did anyone notice the garden shape at the end of the movie?
Anyway, it didn't take me long to compare the Beldam to Tamlin the Tool.
The Beldam doesn't love Coraline. Not with the sweet love, but with the "it's mine to enjoy" sort of love. Tamlin loved human Feyre with sweet love, but Tamlin only loved Fae, powerful Feyre, with the same "it's mine to enjoy" love. He thought she was an object and that was all.
Year 7 was great. I even went as the Other Mother for Halloween that time. But that's a different story.
