Toothless' P.O.V

I could smell him. He was so close.

I could hear his tired footsteps as he dragged his feet along the rocky surface. His ragged breathing soon following suit.

He was tired. no. exhausted. Yet he pursued onwards.

Looking. Searching.

I turned my head around and saw the Nadder trailing behind me. I cooed in a gesture for him to follow as I began to run towards the tired footsteps.

Once I catch up with him I vowed never to leave his side again.

Hiccup's P.O.V

Every part of me ached but it was not an excuse to stop. I was overjoyed when Toothless and the Deadly Nadder had popped out of nowhere on my search to find Astrid. And soon after it wasn't long until I discovered her wondering around just as I was. We stopped for an hour to take a break while she quickly explained what it was she had heard and done. Her story shocked me but I knew that no one else but Astrid would have had the courage to do such a thing to Alvin. Especially when he was already set to leave the island on to travel to Berk. Together we risked a few more precious minutes and devised a plan for once we had gotten to Berk.

Astrid looked up from the plan, inscribed in the dry dirt. Her ocean, blue eyes wavering for a moment.

"When we get to Berk, I'm taking you straight to Gothy," she stated sternly.

I sat up on my knees opening my mouth but she was quick to shush me.

"No. I don't care what you say about it, you're going. You're already severely injured and it would just make them worse if we left them untreated."

My mouth closed and I stared down at my hands balled in my lap. Astrid's face softened and she reached over to encase my hand in her's to place a gentle kiss on my cheek.

"I'll come to see you straight after I talk to Stoick ok?," she said confidently.

I smiled and looked up at her. "Please, I think I can handle Gothy on my own."

She shook her head and leaned back. "Alright, if you say so."

The wind whizzed past at incredible speed. Outcast Island slowly faded into nothing more then a smudge amoungst the watery landscape behind us. I laughed cheerfully feeling the wind bite at my cheeks. Patting Toothless' head I leaned forwards.

"Come on bud! Let's see how fast we can go!"

Toothless cooed joyfully in reply while Astrid rolled her eyes with a grin.

Astrid's P.O.V

I watched as Hiccup and Toothless twirled together in the air. First the first time in months I saw Hiccup smile so brightly his eyes squinted. They weren't two separate beings when they flew together. They were one. And that was how it was supposed to be. Man and dragon, coexisting as one. I stroked my Nadder's neck. She turned her head to look at me. I smiled.

"Guess I haven't named you yet huh?" I pointed out.

She squawked quietly in response.

I leaned back and stared up at the clouds. Thinking.

"Stormfly?" I suggested randomly.

Her eyes lit up and squealed with delight of the name.

"Alright, Stormfly it is."

"Hey Astrid! What are you doing all the way back there?" Hiccup called cheekily.

I looked up and saw both him and Toothless were a few meters in front of me but I couldn't miss the challenging smirk on his face. I returned it with a devilish smile.

"Just getting ready to show you who has the fastest dragon!" I yelled back.

He raised an eyebrow and lifted his chin.

"You're on!"

He pressed himself as flat as he could get on Toothless and then sped forwards. I crossed my arms and shook my head.

"Oh no you don't Hiccup Haddock," I stated. "Come Stormfly!"

Stormly squawked and the challenge began with the fast beat of her wings.
