Hiccup's P.O.V
The next day I woke up to the screaming pain of my back, ribs and face it even made breathing painful. I opened my eyes and thought it was around the middle of the day since there was more light in my cell and the guards seemed to have taken a lunch break or something, but I doubt any of them are worried that I'll escape in my condition and they also had taken my metal leg again so yay for them. I moved my head side to side but winced as the back of my head sent shocks of pain through my skull which made black spots appear in the edges of my vision.
I laid they as still as a stone statue with my eyes closed and my breathing shallow, you could mistake me to be dead if you didn't look properly. Suddenly there was a small screech of a dragon close by and by the sounds of it, it was a small dragon. I opened my eyes again and saw a terrible terror sitting on one of the metal bars that made up the cell door, its curious eyes inspected me closely unsure if I was friend or foe.
The terrible terror was mostly green with orange scales that made a tripe down it's back, around its eyes, on the tip of its tail and he had a few orange speckles amongst the green of his folded wings. This dragon wasn't from Outcast island, it was from...Berk. My eyes widened but the terrible terry hadn't seemed to notice my change of mood.
I put the palm of my hands on the ground and pushed myself slowly and painfully off the ground even though my body was screaming at me not to move as tears crawled their way to my eyes. I sat on my leg and half leg and pulled out an extra piece of paper and a charcoal pencil that I kept hidden in my boot. I sat up straight and continuously blinked my eyes clear of the salty tears that wish to escape every time I leaned over even just a little, I had one very shaky hand writing on the paper and another wrapped around my ribs as if doing that would stop the pain even though I knew very well it wouldn't.
The letter was horribly messy as I could not keep my hand still on the paper but it was still readable. The terry continued to watch me with fascination but he did flinch when I held my hand out to him.
"I promise I'm a friend, please just help me warn my friends," I said voice so hoarse I could barely hear myself.
I kept my hand held out until the terry touched it with the tip of it's nose. I smiled happily and grabbed my shirt that lay cold on the rock and tore a strip of the bottom off. I grabbed one of the terrors legs and strapped my message to it double checking that the note wouldn't slip out and fall. I laid back down carful to place my back where I had rested my shirt up on the wall so it was a little less painful. The terrible terror continued to look and me and then hesitantly walked up and laid down in my lap where he curled up and purred quietly. I smiled fondly down at the dragon and patted his back while he drifted to sleep.
It immediately reminded me of Toothless and a wave of sadness washed over me forming a lump in my throat I couldn't swallow. I missed my best friend more then anything and how I could only wish to hear or see him right now, just to feel him curled around me protectively as I tried to sleep. To have him lick my face or to hear his gentle purrs or growls, just...something...anything at all. Was he doing ok back at Berk? Did the villagers find him? Is he safe? Does he miss me? A thousand questions flooded my mind but yet none of them would be answered.
I wish I at could have gotten to say goodbye to Toothless. Because I fear...I'm not getting back to Berk with a beating heart.
Astrid's P.O.V
I carried a bucket filled to the brim with water in each hand trying to avoid the villagers that flooded the paths of the village running to get more water or something. During the night the dragons had attack again. It was a short attack but caused much damage. So much everyone has been spending their whole day putting out fires the remained and rebuilding some buildings.
I was completely exhausted with both my legs and arms feeling like jelly. This seemed to be my last trip back from the well. As I threw the water over the remaining fire it sizzled and crack and that was all that was left of that.
A big strong hand wrapped over my shoulder and began to drag me behind them. I saw a large, strong figure, with red hair.
Stoick took me to the Great Hall that remained empty except for Valka that was sitting on one of the tables holding something in her hands. Stoick and I sat on either side of her with an awkward silence that hung in the air.
Valka was the first one to break it passing me a piece of paper, she said, "We found this strapped to the leg of a terrible terry by a green material of some sort." She held up a piece of material and I straight away knew who it belonged to. "The handwriting was too messy for us to read but I was hopping you could identify it."
I unfolded the letter and tears didn't hesitate to come into my eyes nearly breaking over the edge. I took and deep breath and read out loud:
To who every may receive this on Berk,
My name is Hiccup and I've been taken by the Outcasts. I have been here for about two days.
Please if you find this note bring it to Astrid Hofferson.
Dear Astrid,
there isn't much I can say but yet there is a whole lot that mainly include questions but I know I don't have time to ask for this may be my only chance to communicate with you.
Please whatever you do, DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT come and get me. I know you have your suspicions on how they are treating me since you know a lot more about the Outcasts then I. But please no matter what they do to me don't come and try to rescue me that's what they're hopping for.
It's all a trap and I don't know how they're planning to do it but if you come for me they're going to attack Berk and everyone in it. Don't come if you wish the safety of your village.
Sincerely Hiccup
I took another deep breath to hold in my sobs. Stoick and Valka looked shocked and confused as they fought between the decision of the safety of their village or only son.
"What do we do?" Valka asked miserable.
"Luckily Hiccup doesn't know us that well and gave us the information we need to find and rescue him," I answered confidently.
"What have you got Astrid?" Stoick asked determined.
"We prepare all the guards and fighters around and inside Berk to keep the village safe when I leave-" I was cut off.
"You leave?!" Stoick exclaimed.
"Yes you two have to stay here and look after the village or all is hopeless, I sail to Outcast island get Hiccup and sail back, sound easy enough?" I questioned.
"If you're going to get my son then I want you to take the others with you and I want you to leave as soon as possible," Stoick replied.
"You mean I have to take Snotlout, Fishlegs and the twins?!" I now exclaimed.
"I have to agree Astrid, you can't do this alone, we're counting on you to bring out boy back," Valka argued.
I stayed silent. "Ok, then that's the plan," I said.
"Valka and I will go get the guards and fighters ready, you go get the rest of the gang and get them all packed and ready by tomorrow, no go!" Stoicked ordered before leaving with Valka.
A twing of excitement hit me. "We're getting Hiccup back!"
