Hiccup's P.O.V

After we finally had to get up Astrid wouldn't let me sleep in the cove until Toothless had shown up. I kept arguing with her until she had her axe up to my neck.
I'd never been in a Viking house before and I had to admit I liked Astrid's house, it was very empty thought. I stood in the middle of a room with a fireplace, a few chairs and the back wall wall covered in all different kinds of weapons that could easily kill any dragon from a distance of up close. I noticed how cold it was in here and walked over to the fireplace. I unsheathed my knife from my armor and grabbed a large rock next to the entrance of the fireplace. In less then a minute there was a large flame in the fireplace. I nodded happy with my work.

"I may not breath fire but at least I can make a good side flame," I thought to myself.

"Oh you lit the fireplace, thank you, I normally can't light it on my own," Astrid smiled. "Swords and fighting are more my style."

"Crafts and flying are my style," I stated.

"I noticed you're more built for that kind of stuff not fighting, no offence," Astrid pointed out.

I shook my head, "I've always known what my strengths and weaknesses are, every dragon does."

"Hmm...well I'm going to go cook up something to eat, are you hungry?" she asked.

"No I'm fine," I answered standing awkwardly in the room.

"Uh...there's a spare room for you upstairs if you want to head up," she suggested before leaving for another room.

I nodded and headed up the stairs. It wasn't too hard to find the room since there were only two in the small hallway. My bedroom had a simple wooden bed with a blanket and pillow on top, there was also a little desk and a window with curtains. I walked over to the desk and sat on the chair. I pulled out a piece of paper and a charcoal pencil. I kept my hand steady as I lightly began to draw on the paper. I was carful and kept my just hovering over the paper so I could move my hand freely as I drew the picture in my mind. I made sure everything was where it was meant to be and how sharp I made the ice or how smooth I made the water. I drew the outside first then left a bit as I drew the inside so I could see the outside and inside. Although it isn't really like that in real life. I drew each scale carefully and paid a lot of attention to the amount of detail I put in. If you're drawing a picture you have to pay attention to how much detail you put in. If you put way, way to much then it will mostly look like scribbles if you don't do it right but if you don't put much detail in it, it will look like a child's drawing. I've always had the talent of drawing and when I was younger I used to draw pictures of Toothless and give them to him and he always kept them but I don't know where. Toothless would sometimes draw a picture in the dirt for me but I was always sad when I couldn't keep it.

I remember this on time when I was about six, I had spent the majority of this one day drawing a picture. I worked very hard on it and wouldn't leave my spot for the rest of the day until I had finished it. Toothless had been out with some of the other dragons doing who knows what. When he came back I was waiting in his little cave which was where he slept. Toothless had been so exited when I had given him the picture, he actually jumped on top of me making me fall onto the ground as he licked my face. I only laughed since I didn't know how to talk then. He watched at my side as I stuck the picture on the cave wall with a little help of his spit. Toothless and I played together after that and that picture I drew is still on that cave wall today. The picture of Toothless and I standing next to each other, my arm wrapped around the back of his neck and Toothless giving me a gummy smile.

I smiled at the memory and continued with my drawing. I kind of missed those days when it was just Toothless, the dragons and I although I'm happy with my life now even if it's a bit crazy at the moment. Once I was satisfied with the main part of the picture I began drawing the background putting in a little less detail since I wanted the part I had just drawn to pop out. I drew the ice in the water and the clouds in the skies, adding a little shading here and there to make curtain parts stand out a little more then the rest. Once I was happy with it I wrote my name on the bottom right corner small and sat back to get a good look. I think I had done a good job with drawing the outside of the ice fortress and the inside where you could see all the little things like plants, caves, water etc. Dragons of all kinds were flying in the inside of the ice fortress and there a about three on the outside as well. I spun the charcoal pencil in my hand before I held it properly and wrote on the top.

A soft knock came at the door making me jump and I covered the picture.

"Astrid-hey Astrid-uh what's up?" I asked.

"Well I thought you might want to freshen up a bit so I put some water in the bath for you," she explained looking at me suspiciously.

I laughed nervously then mentally hit myself, "Sure thanks."

She nodded her head and closed the door on the way out. I let out my breath I didn't realize I was holding and uncovered the picture. I quickly hid it under the pillow of the bed hopping no one would find it. I took of my armor and left it on the bed then headed downstairs to where I think the bath was.

Astrid's P.O.V

I hid around the corner as I watched Hiccup head to the bathroom and closed the door. I waited a bit longer to make sure he wasn't going to come out and when he didn't I quietly made my way to his bedroom.

Nothing was out of the ordinary apart from the pile of armor on the bed and a charcoal pencil on the desk. I walked around then turned my head to the desk again. "Why would there be a charcoal pencil there if there wasn't any paper?" I wondered. I looked around the area of the desk and found no paper or anything to write or draw on. I thought for a bit then moved over to his armor. It had lots of little compartments where Hiccup kept curtain things. I found a small compartment and when I opened it there were about 20 pieces of paper there but none had been written on. I stamped my foot frustrated and threw the piece of armor at the head of the bed which ended knocking off the pillow. I crossed my arms and sighed when I was just about to leave the room I noticed something thin and light slowly float to the ground. I turned around and saw a piece of paper laying on the ground. It was blank but I saw something on the other side so I picked it up and was amazed with how detailed the drawing was. It was an ice fortress that looked like it was where the dragons lived and It looked so detailed that it looked as if it were a real place.

I saw Hiccup's name written small and was surprised the he could draw this well. I was about to put it back when something on top of the paper caught my eye. I read the words and was completely shocked:

My One and Only Home, the One I Left and Will Come Back Too
