Astrid's P.O.V

After I had finished talking with Snotlout he left and I would make sure Hiccup and Toothless would remain a secret. I saw Hiccup near the water washing his wound. I touched his shoulder and I could feel him stiffen.

We talked for a bit and then I sat down across from him. The sun was coming up and I could see every detail of his face. Hiccup's forest green eyes are what caught my attention the most.

"I-I'd like to know more about dragons..a-and you," I said feeling like my cheeks were on fire.

For the first time I saw something different in Hiccup's eyes, something I only saw when he looked at Toothless.

"I-you want to know more about me?" he asked surprised.

"Yes," I said more sure.

Toothless laid next to Hiccup and rested his head on Hiccup's lap.

"Well I never knew my mother and father...my more earliest memory was when Toothless and I playing together when I was about...four I think. As Toothless and I both grew together the thought had finally hit me that I wasn't a dragon when I was six, I used to watch dragons fly around all day and that's all I wanted was to fly. One day Toothless offered me a ride and since then we've been flying ever since," Hiccup smiled at the memory. "As the years past by Toothless and I traveled everywhere discovering new islands and dragons, I never thought who my mother and father are but I decided that my family are the dragons back home and-and I'm perfectly fine with that."

"There's still one more thing you haven't told me," I looked at his metal leg. Toothless purred.

"Not all dragons are good, there are two kinds of dragons who control the dragons. There's the queen who only controls the dragons. I was battling a queen because I discovered what she was doing and so my dragons helped me. I was around 15 and when we killed the queen I-we-uh...let's just say that I didn't come out unharmed," he explained.

"You lost you leg when you were 15?!" I asked shocked. He nodded.

"Toothless was shot down and the bola cut off one of his tail fins, it took me a while but I managed to make a saddle and tail fin that I can operate so we can both still fly," Toothless gave Hiccup a gummy smile.

"That's amazing, you're both amazing," I felt my heart skip a beat. Wait what?!

Suddenly it began to snow. The white snow fell onto the ground as Hiccup stared up at the sky.

"I've never seen snow like this before," he explained. Toothless growled at the snow on his nose which made both Hiccup and I laugh.

We watched as Toothless played around in the snow like a child.

"Hiccup's right, everything we know about them is wrong," I thought.

As the world was for once peaceful, without taking my eyes off Toothless I reached over and placed my hand on Hiccup's.

Hiccup's P.O.V

As I watched my best friend play with the snow I felt Astrid place her hand over mine. It was warm and soft. Once long ago I would have pulled away but now I turned my hand over and linked my fingers with hers.
