Chapter 6: the End of the Line

(Guys, I'm really sorry I fell asleep while I wrote this, but I will do another chapter tonight)

Kylo PoV

As we parted ways with the bounty hunters permanently, I was in a state of shock. I was glad that Hux was willing to handle things for me. I was trying to wrap my head around the fact that I had killed Luke Skywalker.

He had been my uncle. I had been raised seeing him and loving him. I had grown up watching him fight and use the Force, and I had wanted nothing more than to be as strong as he was.

But I had not loved him the way I loved my father. I had  idolized him for all of my youth, adoring him and following his lead. When I was told that I was leaving our home to train with Luke, I was fairly upset. I did not want to leave my home and parents to train with my uncle. But in the end, it had been my father to force the decision inciting both a despise of my father and an unpleasant view of the Jedi.

That's when Snoke had gotten to me. He had sensed my anger and pain from across the galaxy and had made use of it. He transformed me into the man that I was today. The Jedi said that it was evil. I said that it was a different perspective.

"Kylo. Kylo!" Hux's voice jolted me out of my reverie. "We are almost back to Coruscant; what now?" He smiled at me and I returned the gesture.

"We need to move quickly. Snoke will sense that Skywalker is dead and will suspect us. We need to finish this now. There's no going back." I drew my lightsaber and held it at my side.

"Alright. Are you okay? I can tell that you're upset." Hux knelt down so we were a little more even.

I leaned forward on my seat. "I'm in shock I guess. I never thought I would kill Luke. I'm even more shocked that we are planning on killing Snoke."

"Listen, I know this is crazy. I've thought so too. In fact, I probably thought so more than you. I've grown up hearing about how powerful the Empire was, but I also knew that the Empire fell. I knew that Luke Skywalker had been a big part of that. He brought down one of the most powerful empires in the world. The fact that we were going after him on nearly a whim was crazy to me as well." He smiled comfortingly at me.

"I just don't know if I can do it. Snoke is immensely powerful. I do not even know where he is." Kylo sighed. "How much time do you think we have before we are summoned back?"

"I don't know. But next time we are summoned back, I need to use this." He held up a tracer. "I bought this from
Ta'ar. He said it can trace any hologram back to its source."

"That means you can find Snoke?" I perked up a little. That was really good news.

"Definitely, if I can do it subtly. I'll have to stand a little bit behind you to get the signal without Snoke noticing." He smiled confidently. "Have faith. We've won this battle, and now, we can relax a little."

I grinned a little bit at him. "You know what I'm thinking regarding this whole relaxing concept?"

Hux laughed and grabbed my hand. "Of course. Just let me get us onto the planet base. We can relax in the apartment."

We landed without issue and walked into our apartment to an unwelcome sight. It was Captain Phasma and twelve special ops troopers.

Before I could do anything, they had us both in cuffs.

"You are under arrest on the orders of the Supreme Leader. You have the right to remain silent." Phasma carefully relieved me of my lightsaber and blasters, as I was still in bounty hunter's gear.

"How dare you?!" Hux was brilliantly scarlet as we were both led out to a large First Order shuttle. "I am your commanding officer! You have no right to do this!"

"Sadly, I do. I have orders from your superior officer, Supreme Leader Snoke. You have been convicted of treason and treachery against the First Order. Now get in here."

We were both restrained in individual, adjacent energy prisons. Hux looked balefully over at me. "Well, we did want to relax." He remarked dryly, his voice distorted by the prison.

"This isn't what we had in mind though," I responded. "Do you still have the..." I gestured vaguely.

He nodded at me, and then leaned back against the wall. "This could be the end of the line. So know I love you."

"We won't die. We've survived worse." I felt the ship lift off under my feet. "At least now we will probably be able to meet Snoke."
