Chapter 18: With You Eternally

*Ruki's PoV*

"Heh. Well done. A deal is a deal. I give you my blessing, and I hereby annul your marriage to Kaname, however, you are to be co-rulers of the vampire race if anything happens to me." Karlheinz said to Yumi. She did it! We finally got his blessing to be together! There is hope after all.

"Thank goodness... I'm so happy...!" She then reverted to her normal form and begin to fall back. I ran to her side and instantly caught her. Now the only thing left is that she gets better. I then took her bridal style, and as Kaname and I prepared to leave, Karlheinz spoke to me as we approached the door.

"Ruki... Take care of my daughter. If you even dare to break her heart, just know that I will kill you with no regrets." Karlheinz said.

"Don't worry. I'll love and cherish your daughter for as long as I live. I'll promise you that." I said as I looked down at Yumi. I then made my way out of the academy itself with Kaname. It was dawn and the sun began to rise.

"Good for you, Ruki. You were finally able to get Karlheinz's approval." Kaname said.

"But it's only because she fought for it. I didn't even do a thing." I said. I really haven't. Yumi did everything for us, but I..

"You did Ruki. Believe it or not. You confronted Karlheinz on your own and even fought him for a time, knowing that you weren't a match for him, so you did do something." Kaname said.

"Wow. I'm surprised that you're actually giving me compliments, Kaname." I said. It really is. Usually this guy insults me.

"...Because you're important to Yumi. That's all." Kaname said. Wow, that was blunt somewhat...

We then came across the Night Class, who was just standing there in a group. It seemed like they were standing there. I looked around and all the level E's and wolves were gone. They did it, huh.. It's over.

"Kaname-sama, Ruki-kun!" I saw Hiro calling out to us along with Ruka, Ichijo, Akatsuki, Hanabusa, Senri, and Rima.

"What happened to Yumi-sama? Is she ok? Her face looks even paler than it usually does." Hanabusa said.

"I'll explain it to you all on the way back to the Moon Dorms. For now, we we should get back. The Day Class students are going to be coming out soon." Kaname said.

We all nodded and made our way back to the Moon Dorms. Whoever is getting that herb, he needs to hurry...

*Reiji's PoV*
  I looked through the books that I've had, looking for a potion to rid that woman. So... that girl has the heart of that woman. How surprising. An innocent girl.  I then began working on the potion. I don't know, I just have the need to save that girl. It seems that Ayato cares for her a lot. Well, I also don't want to deal with that woman either. She annoys me so much.

*Ayato's PoV*

  We took Yui to Laito and I's dorm and set her in the bed.

"Will she...die?" Kanato said.

Everyone stayed silent, with their heads down.

"..No human has ever survived an awakening." Shu said.

She looks like she's in pain. I then saw Reiji entered the room with a potion in hand.

"Did you find a cure, Reiji?" I said.

"Somewhat. But it is still incomplete." He said.

"What a surprise, you usually don't come up with incomplete experiments." I said.
