Chapter 3:Welcome to Cross Academy!

I got to my room and began packing. I went into my closet and got out a whole bunch of pretty outfits to wear while I am at Cross Academy. As I was putting my favorite outfits in my suitcase, Father's words came to mind.

"Maybe you'll find some answers there, Yumi.."

Could he be talking about Mother? Well, what information would I find about my mother there? It's a school. What answers could it possibly hold? I sighed, and went to my dresser to gather my perfumes and such. As I opened the drawer, I saw a small golden key necklace.

 I remember this.. I wore this supposedly on my first birthday.  Father told me that Mother sent this to me when I was about a year old. Maybe I should take it just in case. I then did the final touches to my packing and prepared for bed since the sun was rising. I got dressed into my purple pajamas and just hopped into bed. 

I then closed my eyes, and fell into the world of dreams.

*the next night*

The alarm rang loudly throughout my room.

"Ugh.. It's too noisy.." I said in an annoyed tone as I put my hand on the clock, trying to find the snooze button.

 I got up, and went to the bathroom in my room to take a bath. I put my hair in a bun, got in the bath, and just enjoyed the fresh, lukewarm water.

"This feels so good and refreshing..." I said in a relaxed tone.

About ten minutes later, I looked at the clock and I saw that it was 6:30 pm, and I quickly got out of of the bath and dried myself.

"It may be early, but it's better off if I am ready early. The outfit that I decided to wear today were some black leggings and a white tank top with a leather jacket. I then put on some black boots as well. I put on the golden key necklace on me to have something of my mother. I brushed my hair and looked to the mirror to make sure there was not a hair standing up.

"All right. All perfect!" I said. I then double checked to make sure that I had everything packed. I then got all of my bags and took one last look at my room.

"Well, looks like I will see this room once again in three months." I then got my bags, and made my way down to the living room. The only one there was Reiji, who already had his bags by his side and was sitting drinking a cup of tea.

"Good job, Yumi. You managed to finish before everyone." He said with a smirk.

"Reiji, you know I am always ready before everyone every evening."  I stated confidently. 

Then Reiji put a curious look on his face and put his cup of tea on the table, looking over to me.

"Oh, really then? What happened the other night? Because to me, it's very surprising that Ayato had to go up to your room and tell you to hurry up. What's going on with you?" He asked curiously.

 I scoffed.

"Reiji.. Are you actually worried about me?" I asked.

 He laughed.

"I'm not worried. I'm just simply curious." He stated with a smirk.

"It just so happened that I was reading a very interesting book, and I stayed all day reading." I told him, attempting to make up a believable excuse.

"Interesting." He said, taking another sip of his tea.

Dang it, he didn't buy it at all, since he stayed quiet and continued to drink his tea. After a time of silence, everyone started to come down the stairs with bags in hand.
