Chapter 15: The Battle of Cross Academy, Part 2

*Yumi's PoV*
Our group has finally left the town grounds, and made it to the woods. It seems that Yuki and Yui were taken to some castle far from here. It was a quiet evening, and all I heard was our footsteps as we walked through the dirt grounds.

"I wonder how M Neko-chan is doing... I hope she's ok." Kou said worriedly. "She's ok. She just has to be. She probably has some sort of purpose in their plan. However, I don't understand the reasons to why they took Yuki. What purpose does Yuki serve in their plan?"

"Not so much in Carla and Shin's plan, but Rido's..." Kaname said as he stopped. As soon as he stopped, everyone else did as well. "Their plan is to kill Yuki and devour her. The Tsukinamis have always had something against the Kuran family. That's why I have been suspicious of them since the start. However, I never suspected they would take Yuki... This is partly my fault as well, Kiryu, so don't blame yourself." Kaname said. After that, we continued walking. They're pretty good at putting them in a far away place...

"This is so boring... There should be some action!" Ayato said.

"Tch.. Shut up, Ayato. I rather not deal with anything right now. I'm too sleepy..." Shu said.

"Hehe, you're always tired, Shu." I said.

"This is really a waste of my time. Those girls were that weak that they couldn't defend themselves?" Subaru said.

"Oh, come on Subaru, cut them some slack. They were caught off guard. They came out of nowhere, and attacked them."

Subaru looked annoyed and continued to walk in front of Ruki and I. "Oh, Subaru...you never change." He really does care for Yui. He just doesn't like to express his true feelings... I then sensed an unknown presence approaching to our location. "There's a Level E coming in this direction!" I said. It came jumping over at me and for some reason, she stopped when she looked at me as I prepared to fight her. I began to see fear in her face. She trembled in fear, and began to step back.

Zero then took this opportunity and took out his Bloody Rose gun and shot the Level E. She then disappeared into dust. Everyone in the group except Kaname looked at him surprisingly. They didn't think that Zero would do that to someone that's somewhat like him. All he said was..

"That was for Yuki...." That's all he said as he continued walking ahead. It was a peaceful evening and all that was heard was our footsteps and the chirping of crickets. It was like 12 am and Ruki and I were walking behind everyone. Ruki was silent. He had his head down, and he looked somewhat upset. When I went into his memories, I saw what he was thinking about. His mind was in his past; the day when Father saved him, the day I met him, the way he was mistreated, it was all a mix in his head. I then held his hand tightly.

"Yumi...?" He looked a bit puzzled, but then he knew that I can read his mind.

"Ruki. Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what happens. If you're feeling upset or lonely, just talk to me about it. Being lovers isn't only just loving each other, it's also trusting each other and telling each other what's bothering them, so that they can fix each other's situations. So trust me.."

He smiled at me kindly. "Thanks for worrying about me, Yumi. If anything does come to my mind, I'll talk to you about it." He said.

*Cross Academy, Ruka's PoV*

Previously....

"Yes! We have to alert Ichijo now!" Riku said. As Riku and I jumped from the tower, surrounding us was a bunch of wolves.

"What the hell... I didn't see them when we were up there!" He said.

"They must have a special power. Come on, let's get them out of the way!"  As we began to fight them, I saw that Kanda was actually defeating some of them.
