Chapter 13: The Calm Before the Storm

As Ruki and I made it back to the Moon Dorms, I saw that my brothers, the Mukami brothers, and the others sitting in the living room.

"Finally, you guys are back! What was that scent of blood? It came all the way here!" Takuma stated curiously.

"Someone stabbed a Day Class student. I had no choice but to save his life and turn him into a vampire." I replied.

"Really? Is he okay now?" Ruka asked.

"Yes, he is. He's going to transfer here to the Night Class tomorrow evening. He was kind of surprised when he found out that we were all vampires. I felt bad for him. It was a lot for him to take in." I replied.

"But who could have done this? If it was a Night Class student, then they would be immediately expelled from the academy." Takuma replied.

"...It wasn't a Night Class student. I know all the students were at the dorm at the time, and I didn't smell any blood on anyone." Kaname said as he entered.

So the Tsukinami brothers or Rido weren't involved in any of it? I'm surprised... Then who could it have been?

"Yumi, can I see you and your brothers in my office? I need to speak with you all." Kaname asked. I looked at them and my brothers nodded in reply.

"Okay, sure..." I replied.

My brothers and I then all accompanied Kaname to his office. When we made it there, there was nothing but silence that surrounded us.

"So why are we up here, Kuran? We in trouble or something?" Ayato asked Kaname in a bit of an annoyed tone.

"No. It's about who stabbed Riku... I have 100% confidence that this man is the one that almost killed him." He said as he looked out the window.

Kaname then turned around and looked at us. "It was your father, Karlheinz."

My eyes widened at his declaration.

"How is that even possible? During that time I didn't sense his presence... It couldn't have been him..." I said.

"I didn't sense it either, and we all know our father's presence really well." Reiji added.

"Then he must be hiding his presence. You all know that we have the power to do that. He's hiding somewhere around this school, waiting to make his move." Kaname said.

I looked away and thought about the situation. Reinhart came into my mind. When Ruki and I were walking from class, I remember what he said that night.

"Heh. The two of you are going to be ripped apart just like a piece of paper..."

My eyes widened. Kaname's right... Father is responsible for all of this! Father is hiding himself under the disguise of Reinhart... He's going to do something terrible, and that vision of Father executing Ruki... His plan is to kill Ruki! I have to do something!

"Oi, Yumi. Why you all so quiet all of a sudden?" Ayato asked.

"U-umm.. I'm just a bit tired... Can we continue this conversation tomorrow?"

They all looked a bit confused at what I had just said. Kaname was looking at me, a bit worried. I then ran out of the Dorm President's office and walked to my dorm, which was only a few rooms down. As I was approaching my room, I saw that Ruki was standing against a wall, waiting for me.

"What happened, Yumi? Is everything alright?" Ruki asked, a bit worried.

I replied to him with an embrace.
