Chapter 5: The Unwanted Arranged Engagement

 After Ruki confessed to me, the both of us were walking hand in hand back to the Moon Dorms. The crickets were chirping, and the owls were hooting in the beautiful, moonlit evening.

"It's such a peaceful night, isn't it?" I asked Ruki.

 Ruki looked up at the moon.

"Yes.. It is." He said in a blank tone.

"Are you okay, Ruki?" I asked him curiously.

"Yes, just fine." He stated.

 As we entered the Moon Dorms, everyone was in the living room, sipping a cup of tea.

"And so they return..." Azusa said.

"Hey everyone!" I said happily as we entered the dorm. 

Ruki stayed quiet as he and I walked inside. Ayato and all my brothers looked angry when they saw me with Ruki.

"Where were you guys?" Kou asked.

"Just going for a walk." I answered.

 Reiji then came up to me.

"Father is waiting for you at the Headmaster's office. He wants to give you some news, and it's you only he wants to speak to." He said, glaring at Ruki.

I looked confused when he made this declaration.

"Umm.. Okay?" I said at a loss for words.

"I will be right back." I said with a smile, then giving Ruki a kiss on the cheek.

"All right. I'll see you then." He stated.

I stepped out from the Moon Dorms once again, and I began making my way to the Headmaster's office. I wonder what Father wants... And it is weird. It is only my first day here. 

What does Father want to tell me? 

I stood in front of the door and held my hand on the doorknob. I breathed in and out and then made my way into the Headmaster's office. I saw my father sitting on on a chair with his legs crossed.

"It is nice to see you, Father. What can I help you with on this beautiful evening?" I asked him.

The headmaster stayed quiet, with hands together on his desk.

"Actually, Yumi, something has come to my attention. You are at the age of marriage, and I still haven't found you a proper marriage partner yet." 

Not this again.

"Father, I told you. I am fine without having to go marry someone. Plus I..." 

He interrupted my words.

"I know. You love Ruki. But he is not for you. You don't know him that much. You do not know what kind of man he is. But I do. I'm the one who turned him and his brothers into vampires." He stated.

 I widened my eyes.

"Yes. I told him if this is what he wanted. This is what he and his brothers chose to do. Those four decided to become vampires in order to take revenge on the world that deprived them of everything, and they all decided to serve me. They serve you as well. Trust me, Yumi. Someone like Ruki isn't for you. However, I did not come here to talk to you about this. I have found for you a marriage partner that is very promising, and he will devote his life to you and you only. He also has taken an interest in you as well." He stated in a serious tone.

What... I don't want an arranged marriage! I want to be with Ruki, regardless of the person he is! This just has to be another of his ridiculous experiments. I then heard a knock on the door and it opened slowly.
