Imagine from imaginexhobbit: Imagine Thorin riding a lawn mower.
What a boring, uneventful life you lead. The people in your books were the ones who were living a life. You through another roman away from you.
Like always, you sat in your lawn chair with a pile of books around you. You went through a book quicker then a woman on diet who was left alone with a chocolate bar. (Don't you dare deny that none of you would eat that thing in a second. We can feel guilty afterwards.)
You sighed in frustration.
Was it really that much to ask for? The only thing you wanted was a handsome prince in front of your house. Seated on his noble steed. His long locks flowing in the air...
You fanned yourself with your hand.
*Brrr... Grrrrhhhhh*
The sound startled you at first. Before you remembered what that sound held in store for you. The only reason why you sat outside, reading in the burning sun.
You dashed through your pile of books, knocking some of them over. Your fence was so close now. Compared to it, you were a midget. Which was what you wanted right now. He could never see you looking at him when your head wasn't sticking out abov the fence.
What your glorious, not-so-much-wearing-a-T-shirt-god of a neighbor didn't know was that there was a small hole in your fence. Which allowed your spying eyes to get a close look of his muscled body.
It took a lot of effort to stay silent when he indeed pulled his shirt over his head and threw it on the ground. He hopped on his lawn mower and there it was... The most gorgeous human being you had ever seen.
Where was that book?
You dashed for it, racing back to your spot at the fence so that you wouldn't miss a minute of it.
The dark haired god pulled back his hair in a ponytail. It only made things so much worse. The book was now helping you as a van. The cool breeze was needed for the warmth that spread throughout your body.
And it wasn't because of the sun.
His grass was cut perfectly at every time. You would never find one single spire (?) that was too tall. Honestly, you didn't understand why he cut it so often. Not that you would complain though.
After a while, the beaming sun caused him to start sweating. Pearls of sweat started to appear on his forehead, later making their appearance on his chest. A feast of sparkles made his skin glisten. Just like it would when he performed other physical activities... you guessed.
The book wasn't enough for you anymore. You threw it away. Accidentally over the fence.
Oh no.
Oh God no.
Your face heated up. Why did you do that? You weren't on your lawn chair anymore! What would he think?!
And sure enough, Thorin stopped his lawn mower and got off.
You sat down on the grass, silently praying that he hadn't seen the flying book.
"Miss (y/n)?" A dark voice filled your chest with warmth and fear.
"Uhm... yes? Yes!" you said, jumping up from the ground. You couldn't see his face due to the fact that neither of you was particularly tall.
"Did you dislike this book?" Thorin asked. The amusement in his voice was all too clear.
You silently banged your head against the fence. "What book?" you tried.
Thorin chuckled. He stood on the tip of his toes to show you the book. "This one. These are your favourites, aren't they?" he asked.
Without answering, you took the book back from him. What could you say to lessen the embarassment? Many options float around your mind but none of them were believable. "I-" you began. Nothing else came out.
"I like those books too" Thorin offered.
A smile creaped up on your lips.
"Maybe I can come over once so that we can discuss one of them?"
Your heart stopped.
And then it almost beat so hard it was bound to give you a heart attack.
"That would be lovely" you said, your voice softer then usual.
What neither of you could see was that you both placed a hand on the same spot of the fence. Only on different sides.
