I'll Always Be There

This is a Best Friend Blake x Neko Male Reader requested by JakeSebastien. This story will be completely in Third Person.

Third Person POV

The island of Menagerie was a peaceful place. Although most of it was littered with dangers, the parts that could be inhabited were prosperous. Faunus of all shapes and sizes congregated to the island.

Some seeking a new life. Some sought it as a refuge  from prosecution. To all Faunus it was a safe haven away from the world of prejudice and hatred.

It was a gentle day with a soft breeze blowing. The clouds were absent from the sky and it shined a natural blue sapphire. All was right in the world.

(Y/N): "Come on Blake!!" The young boy shouted towards his companion. The girl known as Blake raced after the young boy. They ran through the crowded market while bobbing and weaving through people.

Blake: "I'm gonna beat you (Y/N)!!" She was determined to pass the young boy in their little competition. They both cleared the market and ran down the dirt road.

Blake was almost even with (Y/N). Both kept running until they reached their destination. The pair hunched over on their knees and took in deep breaths.

(Y/N): "I won *pant* this time." He declares through shaky breaths.

Blake: "No, I won *pant* the race." She argued.

???: "It was actually a tie this time." A female voice announced from behind the pair. The pair turned around to see Kali Belladonna. She was the mother of Blake.

(Y/N)/Blake: "Not again!!!" They groaned in unison. Kali chuckled at their frustrated squabble.

Kali: "There are still plenty of races to be had, but for now let's get you two something to drink." Both of the young children nodded and entered the house with Kali.

Timeskip - 10 Years

Blake: "We're gonna be late (Y/N)!!" She shouted from outside his house. (Y/N) was scrambling to gather the rest of his belongings. Today was the day that both of them were to join the White Fang as new recruits.

(Y/N): "I'm coming Blake!!" He shouted as he finished packing his bag. The boy ran outside and past Blake. "Race ya!!" He shouted.

Blake: "Hey!!!" She shouted while bolting after the young man. Blake was always able to keep up with (Y/N) so she caught up to him in record time. Both of them managed to get to the docks just in the nick of time.

???: "There you guys are!!" Shouted a male voice. Both of them stopped in front of their friend Adam Taurus.

(Y/N): "Sorry, I kinda overslept." He exclaimed with a sheepish grin.

Adam: "Just be lucky Blake got to you before I did." He punched (Y/N)'s arm playfully. All of them chuckled.

Kali: "Yo ho!!" She shouted from close to the dock. The group looked to the dock and saw their families.

Blake: "Guess we should say our goodbyes." We all nodded and went meet our families.

(M/N): "Oh, I'm going to miss my little boy!!" She exclaimed while pulling her son into a tight embrace.  The boy embraced her as well.

(Y/N): "I'll only be gone for a few years mom. I'll be back before you know it." They let go of the embrace and looked at each other with smiles.

(F/N): "I know that you'll do great things son." His father placed a hand on his shoulder. The boy nodded with pride at his father.
