A Darkened Romance

Salem's POV

The day was still and there was not a sound to be heard throughout these hollowed halls. This palace was empty and void of anyone except my prisoners and guards. While I sat upon my throne I looked out the window and gazed upon my devastated land.

Salem: "Oh what I wouldn't give to have someone here to talk to. Or just someone in general besides me." A small sighed escaped my lips.

I looked to the sky and witnessed a fall star so I decided to indulge my fantasies and make a silly wish. As the star got closer and closer I noticed that it wasn't a star. It was a person falling towards the ground. A small crater appeared when the person landed.

When the event finishing I hurried my way to the crater to see if the person survived. When I got to the crater I noticed that there was a suit of armor laying down in the center. I slowly made my way down the side of the crater and landed close to the armor. I was cautious, because I didn't trust the armor.

Salem: "Hello? Are you okay?" There was no answer so I decided to go next to it. I sat down next to the armor and and took off the helmet. Incased in the armor was a male. I was shocked to see that he was still breathing. I quickly summoned my guards and ordered them to bring him to my chambers.

Timeskip - Night

While I sat in my chair I couldn't help but examine the young male. He had messy (h/l) (h/c) hair, well toned muscles, and defined features. He looked quiet handsome. He moved and the thoughts left my head. I walked to the bedside.

(???): "Oh god what happened?" He sat up and opened his eyes. I only stared at his beautiful sharp (e/c) eyes for just, but they seemed to pierced my very soul.

Salem: "You fell from the sky and crashed near my palace in a suit of armor." I pointed to the armor in the corner of the room. "You've been out for a couple of hours."

(???): "Who are you?" He questioned.

Salem: "My name is Salem and I am the ruler of these lands. Do you remember anything that happened to you?" I asked him.

(Y/N): "The only thing I can remember is that my name is (Y/N) (L/N) and that's it." His eyes held a sad look. I didn't like seeing that look on his face so I gave him a hug. He returned the hug after a moment of hesitation.

Salem: "I will try my best to help you remember (Y/N) I swear. So please don't be sad." He nodded with a small smile.

(Y/N): "Thank you Salem" He laid back down and seemed to pass out from mental fatigue. He looked so cute when he fell asleep.

Timeskip - 2 Years

(Y/N)'s POV

It's been 2 years since Salem found me on the fateful day. It turns out I was a skilled fighter with multiple weapons. I trained with the encouragement from and soon became her personal guard. I have yet to get my memories back, but to be honest I didn't care. The days I spent with Salem were the best memories I will ever need.

She always took care of me when I was sick or hurt. She made sure I had fed and well taken care of no matter where I was. We would talk for hours about stuff we liked and it turns out we had a lot in common, but unknown to her she taught me what love was. Everyday I spent with her was a day I would never forget for as long as I lived. So one day I finally decided to tell her how I felt.

Timeskip - Night

I laid in her bed while trying to think of a way to tell her. When I finally decided how to tell her she walked through door aggravated. She sat down next to me and flipped on her back. I hovered my face over hers and looked into her beautiful red eyes.

(Y/N): "Come here often?" I asked.

Salem: "Only on weekends." She said with the smile I loved so much. She sat up and hugged me. I returned the embrace in kind.

(Y/N): "Better?" I asked her.

Salem: "Yes, thank you (Y/N)." A happy sigh escaped her lips."(Y/N) can I ask you something?" She gazed into my eyes.

(Y/N): "What is it Salem?" I asked her.

Salem: "Why do you help me so much?" She questioned me.

(Y/N): "It's because I hate seeing the woman I love troubled." I said nervously.

Salem: "What did you say?" She asked shocked.

(Y/N): "Ever since the day you found me Salem I have loved you. When I had no memory of who or what I was you took care of me. You made sure I was safe. You made me happy when I was sad. You were the one who taught me how to love and for that I am eternally greatful. So Salem will you please let me love you." I looked down unable to face her.

Salem: "(Y/N) look at me." When I looked up I saw tears running down her smiling face. She pulled me into a gentle kiss and our bodies grew closer. I put my hands around her waist as she put her hands around my neck.

We passionately kissed for what seemed like hours. After a while we separated with a think string of saliva connect our lips.

Salem: "For the longest time (Y/N) I never in a million years thought you would love me back, but thankfully I was mistaken. I love you with all my heart (Y/N) and I never want to leave your side." She dragged me onto the bed and cuddled into my chest.

(Y/N): "I love you Salem." I told her.

Salem: "And I love you (Y/N)." She responded.
