This is a Abused Bird Faunus Male Reader x Kali requested by batmanbeyondis. They also gave me the story idea.

(Y/N)'s POV

The smell of salt and water filled my nose while on the boat. The current rocking me back and forth while the sun beat down on me. It was peaceful and quiet with nothing to bother me. My mind raced about what to expect when I got to my destination. Where you may be wondering?

Speaker: "This is your captain speaking. We shall be arriving in Menagerie momentarily." He said before the speaker went silent once more. The only place a faunus could really feel safe and secure. I needed to get away from the world. Even if it were for only a short time. My senses came back to me when the boat came to a halt at the docks. Everyone started to get off of the boat. I waited until everyone was off before I left. It was a rather beautiful place to be at. There were palm trees and markets littered all around the island.

???: "Enjoying the view huh?" Said a female voice which startled me. I turned to see a beautiful woman. She had cat ears on top of her head, which were pierced, wore clothing comprised of gold,black, and white coloring, and what I noticed most were her sharp amber eyes. She waved her hand in front my face snapping me out of my trance. "Are you okay?" She asked me.

(Y/N): "Um y-yeah I just got distracted." I said as she giggled slightly.

Kali: "I'm Kali Belladonna." She said extending her hand. I took it softly into mine and shook it.

(Y/N): "I'm uh (Y/N) (L/N)." I said letting go of her hand. She looked at me with a questioning look and walked around me real quick. "I-Is something wrong?" I questioned her.

Kali: "Nothing really. I'm just wondering what a human is doing here on Menagerie?" She questioned me.

(Y/N): "A-Actually I'm a bird faunus." I said a bit shyly. A feather from one of my wings poked out of my arm sleeve so I could show her. She looked at it and nodded, but still held her questioning look.

Kali: "Then why do you hide them? You're surrounded by faunus." She asked me.

(Y/N): "I-I'm just self-conscious about my wings is all." I said with a sheepish smile.

Kali: "Well Mr. "Self-Conscious" how about I give you a tour of Menegarie?" She said as I just shook my head and hands vigorously.

(Y/N): "No, I couldn't ask you to do that Ms. Belladonna." I told her as she laughed and grabbed my hand. I blushed slightly as she pulled me along.

Kali: "I don't mind showing you around." She said before she turned her head to look at me. "And please call me Kali." She said with a wink causing my face to redden even more. We traveled all around Menegarie. Kali knew every shortcut there was to take and even some good spots to sit down and relax. Towards the end of her tour she began to question me. "So what brought you to Menegarie?" She questioned me.

(Y/N): "Oh you know, just like everyone else. To come see the sights and enjoy some peace." I said as she looked at me with an unsatisfied look.

Kali: "That's not the only reason is it?" She asked. I could feel fear begin to seep back into my heart and memories flashed before my eyes. Before it could get to bad I took some breaths and calmed down.

(Y/N): "I just wanted to get away is all. Be away from everything even if it were only for a little while." I said as she frowned a bit.

Kali: "Oh so you're only here for a little while." She said a bit saddened.

(Y/N): "To be honest it's a fifty-fifty wether I'm staying for just a little while." I said causing her to perk up.

Kali: "Really!?!" She questioned a bit excitedly. She noticed her tone and quickly grew a bit red faced as I chuckled a bit. "Why do you say that anyways?" She quickly questioned me.
