Trusting Someone

(Y/N)'s POV

The streets were crowded with protestors both faunus and human alike. Most were there to promote equality while some were there to stop it.
Faunus Hater: "Faunus don't deserve to be treated as equals!!!" Shouted a man from the small opposing crowd.
Faunus Male: "We may look different but that doesn't mean we should be treated different!!" He said shouting back with the supporting roar of the crowd.
(Y/N): "We should treat faunus with equality!!" I yelled from the crowd as everyone around me roared with approval and praise. After a while of the argument going back and forth things started to go bad. The next thing you know I hear guns being fired and people screaming. People ran past me as I looked around trying to see who was shooting guns. I noticed an all to familiar banner flying in the distance and the masks people wore. The White Fang. They wanted equality for faunus as well but they wanted to earn it through fear. I surveyed the area looking for a way out until I felt the tip of cold steel placed agains my throat.
Female Fang Member: "Dont make any sudden movements." She said to me as I looked at her. She wore black shorts, a black tank top, black gloves, and the signature White Fang mask. Her skin was also a tan brown color.
(Y/N): "What your doing here is wrong miss." I said.
Female Fang Member: "What is wrong with fighting for our equality!?!" She said pissed as she pressed the tip of her rapier closer to my throat.
(Y/N): "Nothing is wrong with fighting for your equality, but is the way you're going about it truly right?" I said as I saw her weapon falter a little.
Female Fang Member: "It's the only way!!!" She yelled as I saw her skin turn red which shocked me. I figured she was a faunus but I didn't thing she would be a chameleon faunus.
(Y/N): "There is more than one solution to a problem miss." I said calmly as she lower her weapon slightly. I then ducked as she swung it barely missing the top of my head. Backing up I looked to see she had grown extremely mad.
Female Fang Member: "You humans are all the same!!!" She yelled as he rapier became electrified and turned into a small whip. "You weave lies and can't be trusted!!" She yelled as she back her arm up and shot it forward causing the whip to surge towards me. I dodged out of the way and ran towards her. She pulled it back while making the tip of it turn around and hit me in the back. I fell to the ground as pain surged through my body. I looked up to be met with and electrified rapier close to my face. "Speak your last words before you die." She said.
(Y/N): "Do not let them misguide you." I said as she raised her rapier.
Female Fang Member: "I am not misguided!!" She yelled as she brought the rapier downwards. Time seemed to go in slow motion in that very moment. As the rapier grew closer towards me I dodge rolled out of the way and stood up behind her.
(Y/N): "I'm sorry." I said as I delivered a fast and swift chop to the back of her neck. She let out a gasp and her skin turned back to her normal color. Just as she was about to hit the ground I caught her and picked her up princess style. "I can't leave you so I guess you're coming with me." I said as I hurried my way out of the crowd and chaos.

Timeskip - (Y/N)'s House

Illia's POV

I grunted as my senses started to come back to me. My eyes fluttered open as a small amount of sun light began to pour into the room. I looked around and noticed I was laying down in a bed in someone's room. I tried to move my arms but felt something around my wrists. I sat up in the bed and pulled the covers off of me to see that my hands were cuffed together.
Illia: "So I guess the cops caught me." I said.
???: "Well they would have if I didn't bring you with me." A male voice said as I looked up to see the guy from earlier standing in a doorway. I looked at him with rage in my eyes and I saw my skin change to red. "I know you don't like me but please calm down I just wanna talk is all." He said with sincerity in his voice. At first I was skeptical but I soon calmed down and my skin turned back to normal.
Illia: "Fine I'll listen but as soon as you're done I want to leave." I said with venom in my voice as he nodded. He got off of the doorframe and brought a chair next to me. He sat down in it and stared at me. "Why are you staring at me?" I said as he grew a light blush and averted his eyes.
???: "I'm sorry you just look really pretty." He said as I felt my cheek grow warm for a second and then fade away.
Illia: "Flattery will get you no where with me." I said. After I said that we stayed there in silence for a few moments.
(Y/N): "My name is (Y/N) (L/N) by the way." He said. "What's your name?"
Illia: "What does it matter to you? I won't be here after you talk to me anyways." I said sternly.
(Y/N): "Even so I always want to know peoples names." He said with a warm smile. I just sighed as I shook my head.
Illia: "If it will shut you up fine but take these cuffs off me first." I said as he nodded. He took a key from his pocket and undid the cuffs. I then rubbed my wrist since they were sore. "My name is Illia." I said as his warm smile grew bigger.
(Y/N): "The name suits you." He said as I sighed. As I was about to say something before my stomach let out a growl. My skin turned a light red from embarrassment and he chuckled. "I just made some soup so follow me." He said as I nodded. I got out of bed and followed him to the kitchen. When I sat down he placed a bowl in front of me and sat in the chair next to me. While eating he tried to start up a conversation but I ignored his attampts and focused on eating. After a while we finished eating and he brought the bowls to the sink. While he was washing the dishes I decided to ask him a question.
Illia: "Do you live here by yourself?" I asked as he began to dry the dishes.
(Y/N): "For about 5 years now." He said.
Illia: "What about your parents?" I asked as he stopped drying the dishes for a second but continued.
(Y/N): "My father had passed away a year after I was born. And my mother." He said until he let out a sigh. "She was murdered five years ago." He said as he picked the dishes up into the cabinets. I felt a twing of pain in my chest as I heard the words he said.
Illia: "I'm sorry to hear that." I said as he sat down next to me again.
(Y/N): "It's okay Illia you didn't know." He said with a slight frown.
Illia: "I know it isn't my place to ask but-" I tried to say before he cut me off.
(Y/N): "You wanna know what happened to my mother?" He asked as I nodded. "It's actually good you want to know because her story ties into what I want to talk to you about." He said as I nodded with a little confusion. He let out another sigh and began. "Five years ago my mother and I were heading home from the store since we had to get groceries for the house. While we were walking my mom decided we should take a shortcut through the park since it was getting a little late. Later it would cost her for taking that shortcut." He said as a few tears fell from his cheeks. "As we walked through the park two strangers approached us. They both pulled out knives and threatened to kill us unless we gave them money. Since we spent it in groceries we didn't have any. My mother kept trying to explain this to them but they weren't convinced. One of them tried to come towards me but my mother got in the way. She tossed the groceries to the ground and defended me but in the end." He said as he began to cry even more. "They killed her in cold blood. I could only watch in horror as they murdered her. If it weren't for the police sirens scaring them off they would have probably killed me to." He said as he wiped his eyes and stopped crying.
Illia: "Were they ever caught?" I asked slightly worried.
(Y/N): "The police never caught them but I did. After a few weeks of grieving I went to the cops and got the case file. Thanks to witnesses that saw them leave the scene they were identified as faunus drug addicts. It took me a few weeks but I finally found them and cornered them. I managed to knock them out and turn them in." He said as I looked at him in disbelief and some disgust.
Illia: "So you hate faunus now huh?" I said as he looked at me with a questioning look.
(Y/N): "When did I say that?" He said as I looked at him surprised.
Illia: "But faunus killed your mother how could you not be angry?" I asked.
(Y/N): "They may have been faunus but that doesn't mean anything." He said as I looked at him wide eyed. "It is true I have every reason to hate them but not because of what species they are but because of what type of person they are. I had every right to kill them when I caught them but I didn't because I knew it wasn't the right thing to do. Killing them wouldn't bring my mother back and it would just make me as bad as them." He said as I felt his words affect me deeply. Was I doing the right thing? Was I going about things the right way? "I know not all faunus are the same just as how humans are not all the same." He said as I nodded finally understanding that. "All I ask of you Illia is that you stay here and think about what to do next." He said as he looked into my eyes. At first I didn't feel anything but after staring into his eyes for a moment I felt relaxed. It was as if I could trust the words he said to me.
Illia: "I will stay and think about what to do. (Y/N)." I said as he grew a warm smile on his face.

Timeskip 2 Weeks

(Y/N)'s POV

As time slowly walked by Illia began to think more and more about her actions in the White Fang. She finally understood that there actions were the wrong way of obtaining equality. She destroyed her White Fang mask and renounced her membership to the White Fang. At first she was worried because she had no place to go but I told her should could stay with me. She didn't want to overstay her welcome since I had helped her so much but I insisted. I told her It gets quiet lonely and it would be nice to have the company. She agreed with a smile which made her freckles on her face turn a slight shade of pink. She also began to open up to me and trust me more with each passing day and I was greatful. I had learned all the horrible things humans had done to her and her parents. She cried when she told me so I comforted her when she did. While the memories played back in my head a hand waved in front of me which snapped me out of my trance.
(Y/N): "Huh?!?" I said startled as I looked in front of me to see Illia with a smile.
Illia: "Come back to earth space cadet." She said playfully as I shook my head.
(Y/N): "I'm sorry mission control but this cadet is already space bound." I said in a muffled voice as she laughed. Illia then sat on the arm rest next to me.
Illia: "So what were you thinking about?" She asked.
(Y/N): "Just thinking about all the things that happened in the past two weeks is all." I said with a smile as Illia grew one too.
Illia: "Hey (Y/N) can I tell you something ?" She asked as she got off the chair arm and stood in front of me. At first she was just standing there but after a few seconds she began to figit on her feet nervously.
(Y/N): "You can tell me anything. You can trust me Illia." I said with a smile as she smiled reassured.
Illia: "Okay but close your eyes." She said as I nodded and closed my eyes. I didn't hear anything at first until I heard Illia began to walk. I then felt a weight on my lap and I heard her breathing. After a couple more seconds I felt something soft and warm press against my lips. I slightly opened my eye to see Illia in my lap kissing me. I closed my eye and began to enjoy it. I traced my hands all along her body as she did the same for me. After a while we broke the kiss and opened our eyes. I noticed that her freckles were a bright shade of pink as she look into my eyes.
(Y/N): "Illia." I said as she looked at me lovingly.
Illia: "I wanted to show you how much you mean to me (Y/N). Not once have I ever met a human with such kindness and passion in there heart. I have never meet a human I could trust until you. I love you (Y/N)." She said as I wrapped my arms around her and embraced her.
(Y/N): "As you stayed with me I began to grow attached to you Illia. I have come across many faunus but none have shown the passion and fire you hold in your heart. I will always trust you. I love you Illia." I said as she returned the embrace.
