Chapter 9 jealousy

Ten is coming in Ukraine today. After shooting the 'boss' music video, Ten and Taeyong would have a shooting together. Jaehyun had woken up early when others were still sleeping. He was now in the shower.

It's so embarrassing. Jaehyun wasn't ready to face him. What should I say to him when he asks about it? I could lie and say I was drunk or I could say that I don't remember anything much from last night. No, that would be so low of me. If I tell the truth...he will first laugh at me and then tell me how much he loves me as his little brother...But he kissed me back...

Jaehyun heard someone knocking the bathroom door. "Just a minute!" He answered to knock turning the shower off and put a towel around his waist before walking to the door.

"Jaehyun, can we talk?" He had just reached for the door handle but then he recognized the voice. It was Taeyong. They really needed to talk but Jaehyun wasn't ready yet. It'd be bad if one of the members would see them both acting not as usual. They needed to sort things out as fast as possible for the others and themselves too. But he wasn't ready to embarrass himself more. Should I open the door?

He unlocked the door and opened it. Taeyong was looking down in embarrassment. What is he embarrassed about? I'm the one half naked here.

Taeyong glanced at Jaehyun briefly but regretted it immediately. He blushed a bit and wondered if Jaehyun saw that. Shit. Of course he'd be wearing almost nothing, he was just in the shower. But he has a good body by the way. Taeyong was now regretting ever knocking the door.

"We can talk later. I see you're busy." Taeyong was too slow to leave. Jaehyun had grabbed his hand to stop him from leaving.

Taeyong seemed to be distracted about him looking like this. What would happen if I teased him a bit? He pulled the red head in the bathroom and locked the door.

"You're right. We should talk now." Taeyong still didn't look at him at all. He was avoiding Jaehyun's eyes. He didn't even spare a glance at him.

"Y-you should put some clothes on first."

"What? I'm comfortable like this. You're not?" Jaehyun started to tease him. He knew Taeyong was now very uncomfortable.

"Then we'll talk later." Taeyong started to leave but Jaehyun was faster and blocked the door.

"Why? ...Am I making you uncomfortable?" Taeyong blushed more and Jaehyun saw it. They were now standing close but Taeyong still wasn't looking at him.

"I know you can't look at me because you're afraid you'll look at me too long." He had now leaned closer to Taeyong's ear. Jaehyun didn't know where all of this courage came from. Probably seeing Taeyong so defeated made him feel more confident.

"What!? I'm just a game to you? That's so low of you! I thought you meant something with that kiss but now I now you only like making fun of me! ...And you're clearly just using my secret against me! I trusted you." Taeyong snapped. He was now finally looking Jaehyun in the eyes. He looks so embarrassed. And broken? Jaehyun hadn't expected that. He became silent. Did I went too far?

"I'm leaving!" He pushed Jaehyun off from blocking the door not caring if he hurt the other. Jaehyun was left wordless after Taeyong had slammed the door shut.

What just happened? Jaehyun had never intended to hurt him. Did Taeyong seriously think that kiss meant nothing for Jaehyun? He had never thought Taeyong would misunderstand that. What am I gonna do now? He thinks I'm a terrible person. He thinks I'm using him.

Taeyong was so angry. He was angry at Jaehyun and himself. How could he even think that the kiss had meant something. Jaehyun was just playing a game on him and Taeyong was very hurt by that.

"Oh hyung! We need to leave soon are you ready? Where's Jaehyun hyung?"

"I don't know where he is neither do I care!" Taeyong was too angry to think properly about the consequences of snapping like this. He was now by the door and left without saying anything else. Lucas was left dumbfounded by his hyung who he had never seen that angry before.

How could be I this stupid? I should've never had my hopes up. Why do I even care so much? It isn't like I care about him or anything. Why do I feel this broken then?

After cooling down on the corridor he decided to go to the other members' room. He didn't want to see Jaehyun right now. He didn't want to cause a scene where he'd shout more at him. It was better if he'd ignore him today and maybe for the rest of his life too.

Jaehyun had asked him who knows how many times to give him a chance to explain but without any progress. Taeyong was ignoring him. He was clearly angry. Jaehyun didn't want him believing something that was not true. He didn't want to see Taeyong hurting and being angry with him. Okay maybe he deserved it after all. Jaehyun had ignored and lied to him too.

Taeyong was now having a shoot with Ten. He didn't know where everyone else had disappeared when their shooting ended. He was now alone in the hotel room staring at the ceiling, thinking about his mistakes. How did everything go from them being best friends to them avoiding each other whenever they felt like it? Jaehyun didn't know anymore what he should do with his feelings. He liked Taeyong more than a friend should but he couldn't tell him that. He'd lose his friendship and probably his career. Even if Taeyong liked him back, which he obviously didn't, they could never be together, right?

I'll just sleep a bit. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted by notification sound on his phone. It was Vlive. One of the members had started one. He opened the app.

Who he had least expected to see, was Taeyong. He was eating with Ten in some local restaurant, laughing and having fun.

Jaehyun was jealous.

He didn't have any reason to be jealous for. They were allowed to have fun together and chat with fans. Still, he was jealous. He wanted to be the only one to make him smile and laugh. He wanted to make him feel loved and cared. Now he was doing the opposite: he had hurt Taeyong.
