Chapter 4 surprise

Taeyong had stopped crying after a while. They were still hugging as Taeyong didn't want to let go of him. He didn't want Jaehyun to see his ugly face when he was crying.

The position they were in was a little uncomfortable but that didn't matter at the moment. Taeyong was sitting on his knees between Jaehyun's legs, arms thrown around the younger's neck so he could lean on him.

"Taeyong hyung?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know I would react like that. Now you must think that I'm weak and pitiful for reacting like that." Taeyong felt like crying again but didn't allow his tears to fall again on Jaehyun's shoulder.

"No, hyung, I'd never think that. You're the strongest person I've ever met and letting your feelings show is the thing that makes you a human. It's normal." Jaehyun tried to push Taeyong away to look him in the eye but the other didn't even budge.

"Hyung. Look at me."

"I don't want you to see me like this." At that Jaehyun sighed.

"So, about the kiss-" Taeyong retreated fast just as Jaehyun had predicted. So this was what Taeyong looked liked when he cried. How can he be that beautiful even when he cries. It's not fair.

"Please don't mention a word about that ever again. I'm sor-"

"I said that just to get you off me." Taeyong looked away and blushed a bit.

"I'm sorry."

"You look like a different person when you're like this. I like this side of you. You're more human." Jaehyun smiled at him but the other still didn't dare to look at him.

Jaehyun accepted him. Jaehyun accepted this weak and vulnerable side of his. Taeyong felt hopeful at that. He thought that everything wasn't that bad after all. He looked at Jaehyun and smiled a bit. "Really? That's the first time I've heard that."

"Maybe it's because you never show this side of yours anywhere." Jaehyun didn't even know anything about his past. Would it be okay to tell him about that too? He wanted to.

"I used to be like this before I came to Seoul. As a student I was very shy and quiet. My big sister was the one who got all the attention. She was strong unlike me and I wanted to become like her. I hated being in her shadow." Taeyong was waiting for Jaehyun's reaction. Please don't freak out.

"Wow, I would've never guessed that right. When I first saw you, I thought you were someone very confident with their looks and got a lots of attention wherever they went because of that...but that was only my first impression." Taeyong looked a bit shocked at first but then he laughed. Thank god. I almost panicked when he showed that shocked face.

"I wanted people to see me as a strong person. I was ashamed of the 'old me' but I guess that side never disappeared. He is here right now too. Say 'hi'."

Jaehyun laughed at that. He becomes like the sun himself every times he smiles with his eyes and dimples. Taeyong could watch that for a long time. Jaehyun was such an amazing person.

"But doesn't it bother you that I am... you-know." Taeyong killed the mood but he needed to make sure.

"No. Why would it bother me? You're still the same person I've danced with on the stage and had fun with everyday. Nothing can change that fact." How could Jaehyun be this understanding? He was such a perfect person in Taeyong's opinion. He has said all the right things Taeyong needed to hear. He made Taeyong feel accepted and cared. If Taeyong had known earlier that Jaehyun would take all of this that well, he would've told him everything much sooner.

"You should go take a shower, hyung." Again, the good moment was killed.

"Yeah I know. Thank you Jaehyun. Not for reminding me that I smell bad but listening and understanding me. It really means a lot to me. And you should go to sleep. I know you didn't sleep well last night because... you know. Ah, my nightmares are gone too did you know?" They both got up from the floor and walked towards the door. It was late night already.

"Yeah, I know. I saw you sleeping on the couch and I almost woke you up just because I thought it was not fair that you could sleep and I couldn't."

"What! But you knew I was a bad a sleeper and when I finally had a good sleep, you want to wake me up? How rude of you."

"Ey I can't do anything about it now, can I?" Oh no Jaehyun didn't want to make Taeyong mad at him but he couldn't stop the words from coming out. What should I say now...

"I'm sorry." Taeyong said the thing Jaehyun was not expecting.

"Wait. You don't need to apologise. You did nothing wrong. Whoa, you really are just so different from the Taeyong I'm used to known so I don't even know what to say." Taeyong blushed at that and Jaehyun was taken a aback a bit. It was still too weird to see Taeyong blushing like that. He was afraid if he could he ever get used to that. Taeyong kept his eyes in front of him as they walked so he didn't know Jaehyun was glancing at him from time to time.

"Oh finally, you're here. We were waiting for you since we have some important information about the comeback." Ten noticed Taeyong and Jaehyun first when they opened the door. He was looking at them with questioning look on his face.

All of the NCT U unit were gathered in the living room. Jaehyun and Taeyong had thought everyone would already be sleeping by now. Now Taeyong couldn't get to the shower fast. They shared a quick look.

"So what's the matter?" Jaehyun talked since he didn't think Taeyong would want to talk to anyone right know. It feels like he's my little brother now who I have to take care for.

"We were informed earlier that we are going to Ukraine in two days to film our two music videos." Everyone cheered expect Taeyong and Jaehyun. Yes, it was a good news but the timing to tell this was terrible. Taeyong glanced at Jaehyun briefly. He seemed to be thinking something.

"Oh that's cool. I'll go to take a shower now." Taeyong couldn't look anyone else in the eye right now. He walked to the bathroom and locked the door.

The room fell quiet after their leader's lousy response. "Wow someone is enthusiastic. Did he not hear what we just said? We're going to Europe!" Lucas voiced the thoughts, everyone had been thinking, out loud.

"Did something happed? Taeyong's face was all red just now." Now it was Jaehyun's turn to cover for Taeyong.

"I don't know. He looked just fine to me. Maybe he's just tired." Jaehyun explained and left the room too leaving confused members behind. They had expected more enthusiastic response from the two but the timing went wrong.
