It was very dark outside the pod, you could not see outside the window, except where the flashlight shone from the front of the drill. Steven and Peridot hogged the PERIscope, so you just crossed your arms and sat back in the chair. Suddenly, everything started to shake. Peridot made a noise that was somewhere between a squeak and a moan. "W-what's happening?!" Steven asked, looking around nervously. The cluster just outside the pod started to glow. "Look!" You pointed outside. "We're too late! It's taking form!" Peridot shrieked. A ghostly haze started to rock the walls of the drill, engulfing it in a cloud of cluster ectoplasm. Ew. Peridot backed the drill inside the hole you came through. "Steven, I'm sorry I couldn't save you or the billions of life forms that matter far, far less to me!" You rolled you eyes. Of course she didn't include you. Your sadistic imagination tried to take your mind off of things. Explosions. Those are cool. Yeah. "...including you, (Y/n)!" You looked over at Peridot. She actually cared. About you. Your reached over Steven to hug her. "D-do you have any last words??" Peridot asked you two. "I love you Peridot." Steven said, joining the hug. How nice. "Wow, thanks." Peridot said, voice cracking. You had no last words. Suddenly the pod started to shake rapidly, breaking your hug and throwing you against the wall, hitting your head semi-hard. You opened your eyes, your vision was a bit blurry. You looked down at the floor. It looked like it faded away for a couple seconds. You tilts your head in confusion as your eyes tried to focus. Suddenly, voices, tons of voices filled your head, what is happening?! Your head was pounding, you couldn't escape them! They all called for help, help... "STOP! PLEASE!" You said, though that only made the pain worse. You stood up on your knees, squeezing your head, trying to did yourself of all the voices and agony. That only made it worse! Tears formed in your eyes as you opened them to find the ground was invisible, the spirits of fallen gems were now pressing against the walls of the escape pod, trying to get in. "(Y/n)! (Y/n)!" Steven called to you, though you couldn't hear him over the voices in your head. "...help me... Please, please help me... Stop! I'm sorry! Please! No, no no no, NO!" Different voices panged against the inside of your head, it felt like you were going to explode. Suddenly, a ghost seeped through a crack in the pod's seams. It stood in front of you, smirking. It appeared to be looking at you. It walked towards you, you couldn't move. You were frozen with fear as the ghost dove into your mouth, you gripped your throat in protest as a sharp, cold sensation shot through your body. You shuddered and fell still. "(Y/n), (Y/n)! Snap out of it!" Steven said, though his voice was muffled. Suddenly, the pod stopped rocking, and the gem souls retreated to their hole. "It's still struggling to take its form! Now's our chance!" Peridot said, pushing the drill into high gear and jerking foreword. Something clicked in your mind. You looked down at the cluster from the escape pod, ghostly arms and hands were waving around, trying to take form. "Peridot, I don't think we should hurt the cluster." You managed to scrape out. "Yeah, it doesn't know what it's doing!" Steven said. "It doesn't matter if it knows what it's doing." Peridot rebutted. "It's still going to do it." She pressed a button, and the drill head started to spin. The drill shot out if the wall like a bullet from a gun, and hit the cluster, which had formed a multi-armed ghostly limb. You drilled through it like a warm knife through butter. That doesn't mean the butter wasn't extremely cold first. "WooooAAAH!" Peridot and Steven screamed. You stayed silent and kept a blank face because you're really edgy. You had almost hit the cluster, but the wave of ghost hands was halting you, but only barely. Soon, the hands gave way, and the drill touched the cluster. Your head immediately exploded with pain, if felt like the voices of ten million gems were screaming in your head at the same time. You couldn't think, couldn't breathe... You fell to the floor, grasping the sides of your head, crying and screaming. "Is the increase vibration causing damage to your head holes?!" Peridot called. You couldn't hear her, you were in too much agony. You want it to stop, please! "We're not even piercing the crust yet!" You growled as your arm morphed into another gem's muscular arm. What's happening?! 'Form! Form! Form!' Voices shouted in your head. Your left leg glitched and grew extremely long. It was pure torture. 'Form! Form! Form! Form!' The voices screamed in your head, as your eyes turned different colors, and your hair grew very long in some parts, and short in others. You screamed in pain. The cluster is possessing you. It needs to form, and it will do it an any way it can. That includes using other gems as a host vessel. You clawed at the ground as your now unevenly lengthed arms grew long nails and scratched the floor of the drill. "I'm going to increase power!" Peridot called. "Are you going to be okay?" "wHaT do YOu thINk?!" You growled at Peridot. Your voice sounded like hundreds of gem's voices blended together. "Keep going! Quickly!" Steven called. "Affirmative. Activating triple tip penetration mode!" The drill hopped up and down, now using three drills in separate areas. You were now drilling into the cluster's gem directly, the pain grew even worse as one side of your mouth's teeth grew sharp, and you grew three more eyes in various positions on your face. 'Form, Form! Must form! Want to! Need to!' The voices in your head screamed. You looked at the floor and saw the cluster souls on a transparent floor again, trying to get inside. The drill lurched, and a drill head popped off. "Runaway drill!" Steven yelled, and the drill, well, ran away. The pain grew less, but still nonetheless pure agony. "AAhH! PLEase! StOP!" You screamed, though the pain only got worse from there. The consciouses of over two million different gems filled your mind all at once, and you sprouted a blue, pudgy arm from your side. It felt like your skin had ripped open. If felt like everything had ripped open. "There, just gotta keep balance!" Peridot growled, straining at the controls. Your mutations got worse, a grey leg grew out of your left thigh. It may or may not have accidentally kicked Peridot in the face, causing her to press a button and lose another drill. You wanted to poof. It hurts so much, it hurts so much! You started to cry out if your original two eyes, one of them now red, and the other yellow. "I don't know if it's going to hold!" Peridot said as the drill spun around rapidly. "What's happening to (Y/n)?!" Peridot finally said. "I-I don't know! We need to help them AND the cluster." Suddenly, at the mention if the cluster' name, everything faded away. You were falling through a sea of gem souls, and your head screamed. You sprouted another, red hand from your right wrist, and a blue, water-like wing shot out of your back. You shrieked in pain. "HELp mE! SomEONE... pLEase..." You said, and you slowly began to feel tired. And cold. So cold. You closed your eyes, and drifted of into the chilled embrace of sleep.
