Chapter 21- Fusing so soon?

Sunsets are nice. It's afternoon, and the gems and you are staring off into the sunset in silence. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are all sitting shoulder to shoulder, you're sitting a little more separated from them, you're still repelled by Pearl a little bit. Steven in playing soft ukelele in the background, leaning against Lion. It's so peaceful. You close your eyes... Not a worry in the world... "Steven." Moment ruined. "Why have we stopped working on the drill?" Peridot questioned. "Why are they just sitting there looking at NOTHING?!" You opened your eyes. The sky is a nice shade of pink, with the orange sun slowly going below the horizon. "We worked hard and we deserve to take it easy for a little bit. I mean, just look at that view! It's beautiful!" Steven said. The water is a soft shade of pink, the clouds are all nice and round, (like they should be), and a few golden clouds shine out above the rest, silver lining on all of them. "It's going to be blown into oblivion by the cluster I we don't get back to work!" Peridot screeched. "Working hard is important, but feeling good is important too." Steven said. That was something you could all agree on. (Well, maybe not Peridot.) "What are you talking about?!" Peridot yelled, activating her drill. Whatever calm atmosphere there was, it's gone now. "Hey, what is that, a-a C?" No it's a drill. Steven made a sound with his ukelele that matched the pitch of the drill's ambiance. "The drill?" Peridot asked. "Yeah." Peridot activated the drill again, but on high speed mode. This caused a higher pitched drill noise. Steven gasped in amazement. "Oh my gosh, now it's music!" "Music?" Peridot questioned. "Yeah, it's music! Like this... Do ra me mi fa sol la si do!" Steven sang while plucking his ukelele.

"That's exceedingly simple." Peridot said, somehow all her words matched the tempo of the song. "That what's fun about it!" Steven said excitedly. "Do mi so to..." Peridot tried to comprehend. *strum* "We're making music!" "What is the point? You're not making anything." Homeworld doesn't have music, she probably doesn't understand. "Well, if it isn't anything, why does it sound so good?" He's got her there.

"I suppose it's of interest, do mi so do...
