"Lion, can you make us a super special warp to the moon?" Steven asked Lion, quite enthusiastically. Lion to turned his head and groaned. There's no way you're getting to The moon base at this rate. "Come on Lion, we gotta do this so we can stop the cluster! If we don't, there's gonna be no more Earth! No more fun times with your pals, no more lion lickers?... No more naps?" That did it. Lion grrr'd loudly and stood up, eyes glowing. You all sat atop Lion, apart from Steven and Peridot, who stuck half their bodies in Lion's mane. You've always been curious of what was in there's once Rose told you about it. But you've created a mental block not to go in there, it's Rose's private things. Anyways, the Lion ran down the hill, roaring and summoning a portal. You all went in, and were now staring into the face of a light blue vortex. Everyone was amazed, except Peridot. She looked frightened, and she had the right to be so. Falling off of Lion would mean possibly falling into another dimension. Lion roared more and more, summoning more portals, going incredibly fast. Everyone's screaming, but not you. You're just dazed, staring at the vortex. Lost in thought. Traveling this fast would mean you are going faster than the speed of light at a constant rate. You snapped back to reality when Amethyst starting screaming "I-I'm slipping!" You turned to see Amethyst grasping Pearl in one arm, Garnet trailing behind. Amethyst had one had on Lion, but as she said, she's losing her grip. You quickly sprang into action, grabbing Amethyst's arm with both hands, firmly rooting your spot in Lion's skin. Eventually the vortex came to an end and and you all flew out, sliding into a wall. Everyone's still screaming. "LETS DO IT AGAIN!" You said loudly. "Unfortunately we'll have to in order to get home." Pearl said, clutching the bridge of her nose with her index finger and thumb. "Lion!" Steven suddenly yelled. He came out of Lion's mane, running to his head, petting Lion's heavily panting form. "Get me out of this furry fre--UMPFF!" Peridot said, tripping over Lion. "Oh Lion, you've earned your naps for the week." Steven said, petting Lion. You decided to be funny and scratch him behind the ears, making his eyes close and his tongue to stick out. You laughed at the reaction. You then all got off of Lion, Garnet keeping you behind for a second. "Thank you for saving us, we wouldn't be here without you." She said, grabbing your shoulder. You beamed a smile from nonexistent ear to nonexistent ear. You looked around the dark room, and you realized something. You've been here before. Back when the war was still a thing. "(G/n)? Are you okay dude?" Amethyst said. You didn't realize you were stopped. "Uh... Y-yah Amethyst! I'm fine! Everything is just... Peachy!" Pearl shone a light from her gem, you doing the same (unless it's on your back.) "This doesn't look like the moon?" Steven half asked half said. "Hey look I think this is a door!" "Amethyst don't open--!" you tried to say, before she opened their airlock system and you were pulled towards the door by the vacuum of space. Amethyst closed the door just in time, you face planting on it, sliding down it slowly. "Yep, we on the moon!" Amethyst yelled, completely ignoring the fact that you almost DIED. Well, you wouldn't die, you'd be thrown into space with no way home. "Amethyst PLEASE don't blow us into space!" Pearl said, hair ruffled. Everyone turned to the sound of Steven's laughter. He was floating around. Probably because he doesn't have the ability to change his body mass like gems can. "Look at me! I'm a... Moon boy!" He said through laughter. "Alright moon boy!" Amethyst said excitedly, jumping up in the air, expecting to float like Steven. She went straight to the cold ground. "Moon boy quadruple backflip!" Steven said, back flipping 4 times in midair. "Hey! Why can't I be a moon boy?" Amethyst questioned, unamused. "Because we're GEMS. We're a spacefaring race designed to conquer other worlds. Our physical forms adjust automatically to the gravity of any planetoid." Peridot replied saltily. "Aw, LAME." Amethyst said. Steven was singing an earth song, possibly his own. He wasn't paying attention and smacked into a wall. "Hey Peridot! Who's this?" Steven called over to us. You looked up and shuddered and the picture on the wall. "*gasp!* Blue Diamond!" You flash backed to that odd dream you had. "Are they all here?!" Peridot said, frantically looking around for her diamond. "Ah yes! There she is! Yellow Diamonnnnnnd!" She shone her light up to the mural on the wall of Yellow Diamond. You trembled even more. You remembered what she told you before the war started; "If you fail, you will be broken. Do I make myself clear?" "Yes my/Yellow Diamond." You remembered what she did to your friends. "(G/n), save us!" You cringed at that thought and put it back into the metaphorical box it came out of, not to be thought of again. That is, until the imaginary duct tape breaks. "Isn't she magnificent?!" Peridot asked more than yelled. "Wow..." Steven said in awe. "So... Who are the Diamonds anyways? They seem like a big deal." He asked. You ran over there and tried to say; "Oh Steven where do I start? They're the cruelest, most vile--!" But Peridot cut you off. "Are you joking me? The Diamonds are the gem matriarchs! Together, they make up the great Diamond Authority and Homeworld's all outlying colonies! We were made to serve them." You frowned, remembering when you failed a mission for White Diamond for the first time; "No please! I'll do anything! I'll...AAAAAAAAGH!!" A tear came to your eye. You've been holding in your feelings for so long, is now the time to let it all out? You were poofed and abused so many times by the Diamonds, beating you if you failed a mission and just hurting you if they were mad. They claimed it was to make you 'stronger' but you quickly realized you were just a pawn, something to be used by the Diamonds, something for them to take their anger out on. You started twitching, your mind reenacting all the times you were injured by the Diamonds, your physical form destroyed over and over again. 'You useless rock! You have failed me for the last time!' *POOF* 'Take them away.' *POOF* 'Stop, please!' *POOF* More tears fell down and floated in the low- gravity environment of the moon. Garnet walked up to you three and noticed your crying, clearing her throat to keep Peridot from making the situation worse. "I-I mean, we were all made to serve them, even though some of us... don't anymore." She corrected herself. "Hey, I think that's a control service over there! Let's take a look." Instead of trying to make it there before her like you would usually try to do, you walked slowly, eyes glued to the floor. "Are you okay, (G/n)?" Steven asked, finally noticing your mental crisis. You flinched. Are you really okay? What do you tell him? You just remained silent as another memory came back. "I think this is right... The material is different from the surrounding stone... What happens when I do... This! Ha!" She swiped something on the dark, smooth floor and a huge floating staircase appeared. From the ground, each step making a huge spiral staircase for you all to go on. One step hit Lion, he was sleeping on it. It extended upwards towards the ceiling and above it, another floor. Peridot gave nervous, geeky laugh and was jogging in place. You were done waiting. You took off, running on the wall with your speed, gaining leverage from the ridges on the wall. You eventually made it to the top of the base in no time. You patiently waited by the large chair at the top and started thinking things over again. Bad mistake. You started hyperventilating, taking deep unneeded breaths, the last bit of saneness telling you it's going to be okay, it's going to be okay, it's over now, you don't need to be like this. More tears fell. You clutched your head. 'You're just a pawn! Something to be used and then thrown away when you've worn out your usefulness!' One side of yourself was telling you. 'Thats not true! Remember what Garnet said! YOU ARE YOUR OWN GEM!' The other side was telling you. You didn't know what to believe anymore. You calmed down and frantically wiped your tears away when the rest of the gems got there. You stood aside and let Peridot type things on the control panel. "Oh my goodness! This looks like it could be brand new! I mean, it's a relic by today's standards but golly, it's so elegant. So simple, so perfect!" She said, clenching her fists in excitement. "So how to you turn it on?" Amethyst asked. "I have no idea." Peridot said in disappointment. Suddenly, the panel glowed, and everyone, including you, turned to Steven who was sitting in the large crystal throne. He pressed a button. "Hey! It's got one of those glowy hand deelies!" Steven said with a smile. "YOU CAN'T SIT THERE!" Peridot screeched at he too of her nonexistent lungs. "Why not? It's really cool!" Steven replied. "That chair is only for the most elite gems. You can't go around sitting where an elite would sit!" "Well they aren't here now... Steven scooted over and patted the room left on the chair, signaling for Peridot to take a seat. "Right?" You could tell this was really tempting for Peridot, she seemed to consider it before taking the offer and making that geeky laugh again. "Nyeheheheheh..." "Hey, what's this doodad for?" Steve said, picking up a diamond shaped Object out of one of the chair's arms. You didn't see it, you were staring into space (literally) still contemplating things. "Put that back where it came from!" Peridot yelled, snapping you out of your daydreaming. "Okay let's see here... There we go." She moved the chair forward so she could reach to control panel, making you fall over. She didn't realize you were leaning on it. You scrambled to get up, almost bumping into Garnet. "This is a really old system." Peridot said, like a human child showing his parents how to use the Wii fit. Wait what? "Gotta find the right file... AHA!" She pulled up a file on the screen. Cluster, cluster, where are you cluster... Aha! There's the insertion point! The Beta kindergarten in facet 9. It's the smaller of the two, not as nearly as impressive as yours, (G/n)." You flinched at the sound of your name. You gave no response. "But where is the cluster now?" Pearl asked, a hint of annoyance and curiosity in her voice. "Hang on... Peridot said, pressing a few buttons. A dashed line showed the movement of the cluster. It was directly under the barn, how convenient. "There it is! It's embedded deep within the mantle. Relative to the barn, it's roughly 2500 units down. All we need to do is feed this data to the drill at we should be all set." "That's it then, mission accomplished!" Pearl said, excited. It's good to see her happy after earlier. If only you could say the same for yourself. "Yeah team!" Steven said, raising a fist in the air. "Great, let's get the heck outta here." Amethyst said, relived. You walked down the steps with them. You heard Peridot and Steven talking, but you didn't care. You turned back around to see a huge screen popping backup, a map of the Earth is shown. "So here's a map of all structures that were originally built on Earth." Peridot said, you kept your eyes on the red dots around the map. "All told, this accounts for probably about 5% of what was originally planned." "What was the plan?" Steven asked. You were silent as Peridot pulled up a hologram of the world. Everyone looked to the screen in horror as the hologram was destroyed, tall spires and large holes ripping through the crust of the Earth. You flinched as everyone else gasped. "Ta da, a finished Earth colony." Peridot said, like it was a good thing. "Wow, look at this! 89 Kindergartens, 67 spires, a Galaxy warp in every facet, efficient use of all available materials... What were you thinking shutting this operation down? It could have been great!" Is she serious? Because if she is, you can't garuntee her surviving the next few minutes. You're joking, but she needs to stop talking. Like, now. "NO! You're wrong!" Garnet yelled, startling you. Everyone else stared at the screen in disgust. "What do you mean, it's perfect! Just look at it." Peridot said quietly, a small sound of fear in her voice. "We are looking at it." Pearl said, head hung low in disappointment. "Yeah, this plan stinks!" Amethyst said in anger, arms crossed. "Completing this operation would mean the extermination of all life on Earth." You said, a frown on your face. "But think of the good it would have done! The gems that would have been made, our empire expanded!" Period stated, glaring at you. She is trying to knock down a wall she does not want to break. Steven is hiding his face in his hands. "Rose Quartz believed that all life was precious and worth PROTECTING." Pearl said, venom lacing her every word. "Well if she wanted to protect it she did a LOUSY job! There would be no cluster if the Earth had stayed a colony! Now there's no colony and there's gonna be no Earth, so thank you Rose Quartz, you doomed the planet!" She's belittling everyone's sacrifices they made during the war, she's belittling you, you had to be forced into a wall for so long... She's belittling Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven! Something snapped inside of you. Your fingers quickly sharpened, as well as your teeth. Your eye(s) grew dark, a small (color) pupil replacing your normal one(s). You lunged at Peridot, grabbing her by the collar if her shirt. You raised a hand, a sharp point residing on each finger, ready to claw and scratch at whatever was there. "You. Listen to me, now." Your voice is an octave lower that usual. "You were talking about things to you do NOT understand." Everyone backed away at your changing appearance. Black lightning bolts shot up and down up your skin, like at the galaxy warp. You pulled your hand back, Peridot closed her eyes, waiting for impact. "(G/n), wait! Please! It's not worth it. Were done here, let's just go home." You looked at Steven, the sadistic look in your eyes dulling. You drop/threw Peridot back on the chair, and proceeded to slice the control panel with your bare hands, leaving it in shards. Your form quickly returned to normal and you sped out of the room, thinking about the consequences of your actions. The gems know you're corrupt now, will they bubble you? Abandon you? ...Shatter you? Your mind raced with all the things that could happen to you now. When you all got back to the barn, it was early morning. Steven walked away with Peridot, talking to her. The gems stopped you before you could go any farther. "We need to talk." Garnet said.
