It takes a lot of effort to break a person- to charge them or force them over to the dark side... or even have them go willingly.

For Mick- Meg was sure he put up a fight when the Time Masters turned him into Chronos. To get him back? It took a lot of effort too.

For Cassie- it didn't take much.

Meg went to a dark place- and it took a war to get her there.

Nothing was making sense to her as she numbly walked away from Ray. She used to think that light and dark were complimentary to each other. One couldn't exist without the other... but that was before she joined this team and saw the truth behind it all.

In some people, there was only darkness, devouring their souls.

For a while, there used to be a fight inside of Meg, between her light, bubbly self and the person she turned into when a blackout hit her.

Today, the side that Savage had brought upon her won. The battle was slow, and extremely painful, but that side won.

And now- that darkness was everything inside of Meg.

All that was left in Meg was this girl, who was too lonely to interact. She was too scared to move but frightened to stay put. Her insides were filled with that in-between stage of despair and anger- where you're too deep underwater to even bother to swim up.

As Meg entered the main deck, a few heads turned to look at her. There was Sara, Rip, and a very angry Stein. The redhead folded her arms, giving them a quirked, cold brow.

"So what are we doing?" She asked dryly, approaching the team with slow steps. Meg hid her hands inside her pockets to hide the bruises and the shadows that threatened to burst from her wrists.

"We're heading to the Vanishing Point to turn in Savage." Rip explained, "But Dr. Stein, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Snart, and Mr. Rory are heading back to 2016."

"You're going home?" Meg asked, raising a brow at them. They nodded their heads.

"Face it, Red, Rip is using us to do the dirty work so he can swoop in unharmed to save his family." Leonard sneered, "Come on back with us- we'll all go out for a nice drink and rob some ATM's."

"I will finish what we started. What even is there back in 2016?" She asked them, looking them dangerously in the eye.

"Suit yourself, Red. I hope to see you not dead one day because of this guy." Snart said. He and Mick left- saluting Rip, Sara, and Meg before leaving. Martin must have slipped out while they were talking... too infuriated to say goodbye.

The ship rumbled, shaking to the point where Sara and the redhead had to grab onto the back of Rip's chair for support.

"Is the Waverider okay?" Sara asked.

"She's fully functional. Only a few more moments until the time drive is working, and we'll be at the Vanishing Point." Rip explained. Meg glanced at the ship's data on the screen, letting out a dry snort.

"You're pushing the ship too far." She said, "We're gonna break down before we're even halfway there."

"You don't know the ship like I do."

"I know how to read a damn computer screen."

"Trust me, Margaret, I've been captain of the Waverider for nearly a decade. Those are just numbers." Rip said sassily to the redhead, giving her a threatening look.
