It took Ray and Meg a long time to actually talk to each other as they rode back from the Sheriff's station, leaving them in awkward silence. Ray probably felt bad for snapping at Meg, and she couldn't help but replay his words over and over in his mind as if they were from Socrates himself.

"Meg-"

"Ray, if you're going to apologize, I'm not gonna let you, because you're right."

"Sorry if I sound like a dick, but if you think I'm right, then why contradict yourself like that?"

A smile crept onto Meg's face at his slow, nerdy awkwardness. Gulping down her nerves and the butterflies that flew around her stomach- she looked at the dirt trail ahead.

"I don't know. There's just been this feeling in my stomach ever since..." Margaret trailed off, unable to speak any further on the topic. The shock that had settled in her stomach the day of the Conglomerate never left her gut- and only grew and swelled everyday, leaving her bitter and nauseous.

"And I'm guessing with me being here talking to you is making it worse. I understand. Kendra gets that way when she has those memories of past lives with Carter." Ray said, his voice sounding nothing less than an ashamed fourth grader.

"Ray... Don't you go blaming yourself for any of this- with me or anything." Meg grit her teeth as the shadows stirred within her, "Savage- father or not- is still a cynical dictator. We need to stop him, but only right after we save this town."

Nodding his head, he stopped the horse and dismounted in silence. Meg jumped off, petting the long mane of the beauty before heading inside the Waverider. Now it was time to pay a visit to Rip- who owed her an explanation.

Meg poked her head into his office, her hat tucked her arm. The gun in her holster pressed against her ribs, only reminding her of it's annoying presence.

"Rip?" She called, her eyes searching the unity room until they fell on the former Time Master, who was staring at Boardman's journal. He was obsessed with killing Savage- even more so than usual. Well- no one could blame him, the tyrant was an asshole.

"Ah, Miss Grace. What can I do for you?" He asked, oblivious to the question Meg was going to throw on him.

"Did you know that Savage is my father? Is that partially why you recruited me?" She questioned, her arms folded. The words were slow to leave her mouth, quivering almost.

Rip's eyes met hers, where he looked taken back from the question. He paused for a moment, thinking about the right words to answer the question. Meg stood in silence watching him until he formed the words to create an acceptable answer.

"I told you from the beginning- I read your file." He explained.

"Why didn't you say anything to me about it?" The words seemed forced out of Meg's mouth. This was far from the conversation she would rather have with Rip... But she needed answers. She had to know.

"He must have told you at the Conglomerate, didn't he?" Meg nodded her head. He sighed, and thought again before answering.

"I didn't want you to know anything about your timeline before this.. Quest.. Started. Perhaps if I told you when we first met, you'd either a) abandon the team or b) not want to kill Savage."

"Rip... We have to kill him." She blinked back the tears that welled up in her eyes, pushing down her emotions, "He gets into my head when I see him. All the time."
