You were always good at (Your Favourite Subject Name). Ever since a very young age, you loved learning about it. It wasn't just dead easy for you, it was also one of the most interesting topics in the whole curriculum. That was probably why you decided to become a teacher of that particular branch of studies. You didn't necessarily like working with kids, but you were just surprisingly good at it. Maybe it was because you dealt with things differently. You were stern, but never scary. The reason behind this was because you felt like it would do nothing but inhibit the children's ability to learn. You were the complete opposite of a certain co-worker that you worked with.

Levi Ackerman was the homeroom and History teacher of Grade 11. He was not only strict, but he was also very harsh and blunt. It was the total opposite to your teaching methods, but then again, you were teaching mere first graders that didn't require much such extreme polishing of character. You disliked him from the very beginning, but you found his presence slowly convincing you otherwise. What you weren't aware of, was that this interest wasn't just one-sided. Whenever Levi would have to walk past your classroom, he would catch himself taking brief moments of his attention to glance at you in motion. The way you bent down to talk to them, showed how much respect you had for these kids that were learning. He didn't want to admit it, but he actually liked the way you talked and looked after your pupils. However, he would brush it off as quickly as it dawned on him to avoid any complications.

There was one rule the school employees had to abide by. That was the one rule that nobody dared to break, since it would result in severe consequences. An office romance was forbidden. Whether it be inside or outside of the school campus, as long as you carried the name of your school on your shoulders, it was something nobody would dare to try. Even so, you found yourself falling hard for the short man. There was no boundaries to love after all. You never really understood why your emotions were in a turmoil until the night you decided to work overtime.

Everybody else had gone home, but you had decided to stay a little late to finish up some grading. You were pretty weary by then, the job of a teacher was a very tiring. Truth be told, you just wanted to go home and collapse into your bed. But you still had responsibilities of an adult, and procrastination was not an answer anymore. You occasionally nod off as you try to balance your head on a hand that was propped up by your elbow. Your forehead was already sore from face planting into the table multiple times, yet this plan was not working out so well either. At that moment, you hear the door open to see Levi walk into the room with his coat slung over his shoulder casually. He usually looked neat and formal with his tie and well-ironed suit, but it turns out that he found this attire much more comfortable.

Levi notices the bags under your eyes, and he sighs as he leans over his desk to pick up the packet of cigarettes that you assume that he had forgotten to take. You wrinkle your nose slightly at the thought of smoking, to you, it was rather distasteful. But who were you to judge whether or not he should be smoking. As you return your attention to your work in silence, you were interrupted by a metallic tap in front of you. You look up in bewilderment to see a cold can of coffee in front of you. You turn your head to the door to see him already on his way out with a cigarette balancing from his lips.

"Th-thank you!" You cannot help but stutter out a few words of gratitude.

Levi throws his hand up with a little wave before disappearing into the shadows. Your lips curl up with a soft smile as you crack open the can for a little sip. It tasted sweet and bitter at the same time, a rather pleasant combination really. It would be the perfect way to describe what you felt for Levi Ackerman.
