I had been home for several days since I was rescued by Jay in that strange warehouse with a man who wanted me dead as a trap to lure in the ninja. I actually tried to think as little about that as I could because it reminded me that my life would forever be different. I had a gift, an element. I hadn't really looked into it at all and tried to keep my head down and invested in my schoolwork and inventions, but no matter how hard I tried there was a looming feeling surrounding me that I just had to look into.

I couldn't ask my parents.

They have been on a business trip for a week, leaving the day before I was kidnapped and still not returning. I actually haven't even mentioned my ordeal to them because they wouldn't understand anything and somehow it would be pinned onto me as if I had somehow caused my own downfall. I knew they loved me, but some things are better kept secret.

Jay had stayed with me for a few days at my house but left last night after installing a security camera at the front door and sprucing up my home security system. I felt safe and I felt fine, but there was so much to learn and adjust to.

I needed to know what these powers were.

After asking Jay to let it go, he hadn't bothered me about my powers again. He just kept making small remarks like "I can't imagine not having powers" and "my element truly is a gift and Sensei trained me incredibly well." I never commented on them, but I called him last night and asked him if I could talk to Sensei and he was overjoyed.

So today, I stood in front of the monastery door debating my options and if I should knock or leave silently and just go back to my lonely house.

I was being stupid. I needed answers on how I got these powers and what to do with them. Did I want to train and eventually use my powers? Not particularly. But I knew Jay would feel better knowing I could protect myself. All the ninja taught their girlfriends basic protection skills. I trained for about two weeks and could take master the training course, without flipping like the ninja insanely do, but could not take down a ninja. And I didn't plan on ever having to take down a ninja in the future so I think that's alright. I didn't like working out every single day. Mad respect for people that do.

I sucked in a breath and stared at the door, finally deciding to open the door and step inside. There was no one in sight, which was strange for a well weathered afternoon, but as soon as I stepped three steps in, Lloyd slid out from the hallway in socks, black gym shorts, and a green t-shirt. He stood ten feet away from me and cocked his head to the side, "Oh, it's you," he simply stated while shouting "False alarm!" as loud as possible down the hallway.

I rose an eyebrow and placed my hands on my hips, "You really planned on taking me down if I was an intruder in socks? You have too much confidence in your abilities, Mr. Green Ninja who is all powerful and feared throughout Ninjago."

Lloyd huffed, "You really just waltz into my home and insult my skills. You're not my favorite of my brother's girlfriends," he honestly told me as I walked past him and towards the game room. I grinned, "Who is your favorite?"

Lloyd stayed silent and walked by my side as I neared the game room, "Does Jay know you're coming today? He never mentioned it, and he usually gets excited when you're coming over." I shrugged, "I don't know. I mentioned it and that's usually how far our plans go."

Lloyd chuckled and pushed open the door as I walked inside, seeing all the ninja leaning forward and investing deeply into the game at hand. I now realized that they had elected Lloyd to go see what the potential threat was when I walked in unannounced and continued their game. So much for them being the green ninja's protectors.
