"First you have to subtract the four, correct?" Zane wondered, peering over my shoulder to examine the calculus notes in front of me. I nodded and grabbed my water bottle, taking a small sip. School was almost over, a few more months, then college. So now, naturally, all the teachers are piling the tests and assignments onto us.
"Then you square root the sixty-four, so it can be simplified," I explained. Zane had been curious to what I've been doing when I'm not hanging out with him so I explained to him the concept of wanting to knock yourself in the head with a textbook, or studying, as some people would say.
I think Zane really was interested in this. Sure, school can be fine, but not calculus class. I don't have any interest in numbers and equations. I like the biology, learning about life and their cycles. I like to calculate the formulas of different compounds and discover what we take for granted is made of.
"That would be eight," Zane added, taking the pencil from my fingers and drawing in the number on the next line. I turned to face him and smiled. He looked up and tilted his head, his finger tracing my jaw. "I think this is enough for now, hm?" he softly asked.
I nodded and closed the textbook, leaving my paper inside of it. Zane turned my chair to face him and pressed his lips quickly against mine. My arms linked around his neck and my lips found a constant rhythm.
Why do homework when you can do... this?
