ayeeee howya doing my lovelies.

beta's just amazingly amazing. if your school has a beta club JOIN IT! you won't regret it. of course, you have to have a 3.0 average gpa and you gotta be a good kid, but other than that, you're good.

GO TO STATE AND GO TO NATIONALS.

both events were the most fun events of my freshman year. there's so many competitions you can compete in. you can go individual and take an academic test (history, science, math, english, spanish, french, german), enter an art piece (drawing, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, photography, woodworking, recyclable arts, a few more I'm probably forgetting), do onsite art (pencil, colored pencil and acrylic). there's also speech, which is where you give a speech on a topic of your choice. oh and there's poetry and creative writing.

annnnd there's the group comps. group talent, rapid response, character skit, banner, commercial design, living literature, show choir, special talent, probably more I'm forgetting.

you can also represent your club by running for a state office. this isn't an easy job and takes months and months of planning. you have to have a minute long speech followed by a minute long campaign skit which you are not allowed to be in, only other members of your club can. this is in front of everyone attending the conventions and they vote after all of the candidates have spoken.

the friendships are the best. you make so many friends at practices and work nights (these are organized by your club to work on and practice numerous competitions to get ready for the conventions).

your sponsors are the best. the sponsors are the teachers who step in and are basically representing and organizing your school's club. they're the leaders.

my sponsors are amazing. so amazing that at nationals I bought a leather National Beta notebook and wrote each of them heartfelt thank you notes. I gave it to them when we stopped at cici's pizza on the way back from nationals and let's just say all three of us were crying there.
