I am so so so sorry for my absence. Around the time that I disappeared, I was on my way to Beta nationals, which was held in Savannah, GA. And let me tell you, I had a blast.

My deepest apologies go to kittypawsbooks for my really long disappearance in the roleplay. I am so so sorry for that.

anyways, Savannah was absolutely amazing. I have been there before (the previous year actually) and I loved it then too.

I competed in three competitions, division 1 individual history academics, group talent and campaign skit.

when I opened my history test when they had us start, I knew I wasn't gonna place, the questions were too dang hard lmao. I did make an awesome friend though. He's really awesome and we now have each other on snap.

At group talent, we were one of the smallest groups competing and literally that performance was the first time everyone was on stage. Not everyone showed up for work nights at the same time. As expected, we didn't place.

I'm campaign skit, it was sooo crazy. I don't even know how to describe it other than cats. Just cats. Our candidate is so crazy but he's so cool lmao. What I did was wear a cat mask and dance around with a saxophone for the last bit, which was "everybody wants to be a cat" from the aristocats.

The most exciting thing ever happened, our candidate got elected as national Beta Vice President, which is a big freaking deal! It's the first time our school has had a candidate win a national position ever! And the first time from Indiana in over 20 years!

The main part of nationals and state is the running of the candidates. At state, you choose whether you run for President or Vice President or secretary  and you give a one minute speech followed with a campaign skit. It's in front of everyone since they're at the sessions.

There were sooooo many Vice President candidates at nationals, more than president and secretary. And they were all so good. But our candidate's was pretty amazing tbh.

People would randomly come up to my group and I during the convention and say "hey, your Erik's people!" (His name is Erik) or "you're those cat people!" And they would talk about how Erik would go on and on about cats.

Whenever they announced his name during the installation of the new officers, we screamed for forever and chanted his name's until he was on stage.

After that session, we left savannah and headed home. We didn't get home until like 3 am lmao.

Anywayssss it was awesome. I have so much more to tell about it but I'll tell that another time.
