so I came to beta today to learn that ye guy I was going against for the drawing position is actually frikin amazing and he got the spot. heck I saw his examples and I was like, yep, his values are way better. but I feel like what he drew isn't quite creative enough? I mean, he just drew two animals, while I came up with a rather creative idea, idk, maybe I can talk to him and give him ideas.
BUT BUT, THATS OKAY. because our leader/sponsor told me that I could to mixed media. mixed media is basically where you create a piece with two or more art mediums. for example, watercolor and ink.
ideas were flowing through my mind and I decided to stick with my original plan ( which the test drawing will be below ) but add watercolor to it.

I'm gonna do a drip affect for the horses mane with warm watercolors ( orange yellow red ) and I'll do purple and blue for either the girl's flower crown or her hair.
there's going to be a lot of changes beyond watercolor in the final piece. it's going to be on much larger watercolor paper, the girl's skin will be lighter on her face, her hair will be darker and shinier, and I will add much darker values where shadows are for contrast.
yeeeeeet.
can't wait to propose this to my art teacher and ask for advice tomorrow.
anyways, other things that happened at beta tonight was we stayed later to practice for show choir, though it was really just the upperclassmen doing the dance and trying to remember all of it since they did it as a show a few years ago for the actual school show choir. I basically just did skit the whole night. I know the whole dance now.
