It was the day that Athena had been dreading – the day of Abi Porter's and Spencer Hills' funeral.

It had taken a while for everything to be planned, especially since it was a joint funeral, but it seemed worth it. Spencer's family had known about Abi, due to Spencer's constant rambling about her, and they decided that it was only right that they were buried together. After all, they did everything together – even in death. Once Spencer's family had decided that it would be a joint funeral, they reached out for help from The Walking Dead cast, especially Athena, so they could give the couple a perfect send off. Their hard work clearly paid off, because everything was perfect, and it just screeched Abi and Spencer.

Everybody who knew the couple personally had come, except from Abi's parents for obvious reasons. Athena wasn't even sure if they knew that their daughter had died, despite it being displayed in numerous news articles. If they did know about their daughter's death, they had shown no interest of saying a goodbye to her.

Of course, the entirety of The Walking Dead cast were there, including those who had been killed off in the earlier seasons, such as: Jon Bernthal (Shane Walsh), Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori Grimes), Laurie Holden (Andrea Harrison), Jeffrey DeMunn (Dale Hovarth), Emma Bell (Amy Harrison), Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon), Irone Singleton (Theodore 'T-Dog' Douglas), Jeryl Prescott (Jacqui), Madison Lintz (Sophia Peletier), Scott Wilson (Hershel Greene), Emily Kinney (Beth Greene) and David Morrissey (The Governor).

But, most importantly, Steven was right there beside Athena, holding her shaky hands while salty tears dripped down her cheeks. Although, it seemed as though the brunette didn't realise that she was crying. Her hazel eyes were locked onto the caskets in front of her, burning holes into the sides of them.

On each side of the caskets sat two blue, large candles, seeing as the theme of the funeral was blue – not because it was a sad colour, but because it was Abi's and Spencer's favourite colour. Above the casket were purple roses, along with numerous pictures of the couple in picture frames. Athena's eyes scanned the pictures, and a faint smile tugged on her lips upon seeing numerous old pictures, where the three of them were in it together with bright smiles on their faces.

If only they could still be that happy.

In the background, Athena could hear a very familiar song playing, and once she tuned out the crying behind her, the female soon identified the song as 'One Last Time' by Ariana Grande, a song that Athena had found quite fitting for the occasion, though it only brought more tears to her eyes.

Feeling a nudge from her fiancé beside her, the brunette turned to face him with a questioning look in her eyes, before he pointed to the funeral director in front of them, who smiled with pity at Athena, "Athena, would you like to say a few words?"

The brunette took a shaky nod as she felt the many eyes burning into her back, pressurizing her to stand up and give a speech about her two best friends. Athena stood up from her seat and moved to the pedestal, standing upon it and looking over at the caskets while she wiped away the tears from her eyes.

"I haven't got anything planned for this, but then again, when do I plan anything?" Athena announced, causing some people to let out small chuckles at how unprepared the female was, "As most of you know already, these two people here were – no, are my best friends. They stood by me through thick and thin, and always brought me back up when I was down. Abi had a terrible childhood, but she took that and turned it into something amazing. Her childhood made her want to make people happy, and she did. She made so many people happy and I know that because I can see every single one of you here nodding, agreeing with my statements." Athena glanced around at the audience, seeing numerous people with tears down their cheeks, and others nodding at whatever the brunette said, "Abi would always be the one who would drag me from my bed when I was in a rough time, and she would tell me to wipe away my tears and to get dressed, and every time she said that, I knew that I'd probably wake up with a huge hangover the next morning." A few people laughed at that, knowing that Abi and Athena were the pair who always went out to parties and got so drunk that they'd end up collapsing on a pavement, causing someone from the cast to have to pick them up and take them home, "Although, I always knew that she had my back. If anybody even attempted to hurt me, they had signed their death sentence because Abi would be tracking them down and ripping their head off their necks. Abi made a lot of bad decisions, all of us can agree on that, but no matter how many bad ideas she made, she was my partner in crime, the other half of the expose squad, and most importantly, my best friend." Even more people began to cry at that, and another tear slid down Athena's cheek, which she hastily wiped away as she told herself that she wouldn't have a breakdown in front of everyone, "I'm glad that she found someone like Spencer to love her, because Spencer was a loyal and caring friend, who always kept calm even during the worst times. He always made you feel wanted, and he always made you feel safe. Hey, don't get me wrong, maybe that was because of his killer muscles, but I always thought it was because of his reassuring personality." A few people laughed, while nearly everybody smiled, knowing that Spencer always claimed he had the best muscles out of everyone, "He always knew how to calm someone down, and he always knew whether something was a good or bad idea – most of the time mine and Abi's ideas were bad. He always asked me to come to the gym with me in the morning and my reaction would always be "What's a gym?" but right now, I'd wake up at three in the morning and go to the gym with him if it meant I could see him again. I always wanted a brother when I was younger, and I finally got one." And so another tear slid down Athena's cheek, but this time, she didn't wipe it away and she allowed it to roll off her chin, "Neither of them deserved to have their lives so cruelly taken away from them, but their lives were taken away from them. However, they wouldn't want us to be crying. They'd want us to be drinking some alcohol and having a party in their honour. I can't exactly drink right now with this kid inside of me, and I don't think many people are in the mood for a party, but I promise both of you that I'll be happy, and I will be the best mother this world has seen, just for you two."

As the brunette made her way back to her seat, a few more tears fell from her eyes as she heard the thunder of applause ringing in her ears. Once she sat down, she felt somebody brush the tears off her cheeks and press a small kiss to her cheek, and Athena didn't even have to look over to tell that it was Steven, who was extremely concerned for his fiancé.

"They'd be proud of you." Steven mumbled, grabbing her hand and squeezing it gently, "They were always proud of you, and they always will be. I have no doubt about that."
