Ed and Carol were young and in love. Carol having a teen pregnancy and having Cassandra but over time Ed became abusive to both girls. Many years later came Sophia and it got worse. Ed never allowed Cassandra to go to college but everything changed one day and now Cassandra and her family needs to learn how to survive.

People would describe Dean Dixon the way one would describe a stray dog. They would tell you that the small boy was more on the streets than he was in those two houses he was supposed to call a home. They would tell you that he spent so little time in those houses and more time wandering the distance between them. They would tell you the small boy looked like a battered dog with scraped, bruised skin, patches of cuts, bleeding or dry along his skin. The one that stood out was the scar across his face. There were whispers about it. Some betted on his mother. Others betted on his father. A few betted on his uncle. The cut on his face made him look unapproachable. People would tell you he looked like an anxious dog in a corner if you approached him, barring his teeth in warning. His wary, cautious eyes watched you until it made you uncomfortable and you left. People would tell you to leave him alone. That some strays can't be saved. People would say that Dean Dixon was doomed from the second he was born.

Clearing the shelves of the little bit of food that was left and stuffing the food and snacks into my bag, I was in such a hurry I did not hear the door to the store "ding". But I did hear a weapon being cocked behind me. I twirled around so fast I got a little dizzy from it. In front of me was a man with what looked like a crossbow, that was pointed right in my face. I started to shake and wanted to cry so bad because I felt terrified. "Who tha fuck are you?" The man said in a dark, country accent and raspy voice. "I-i-" Not really able to answer because I was so freaking scared for my life right now. "Well are ya gonna answer ma damn question, little girl!" "Pl-ease, can you get that out of m-y face sir." I asked more stabled now. The man just stared at me with a mean look on his face. Then he smirked alittle bit. "Yea, when I get ya name." He replied back. "It's Destiny, yours?" I told while taking a step back.

"I'll uh look out for you for him from now on" he said, he was still practically a stranger to her but she felt as if she could trust him. "Do you promise?" She asked sniffling and rubbing at her eyes as tears formed. "Promise" "Pinky promise?" Daryl looked at her bewildered as she raised her pinky. He sighed with a small quirk of his lip and linked his pinky with hers. "Promise" <~> Jade Hudson, 5 years old and the world had gone to shit around her in the apocalypse. While searching for her missing father, Daryl Dixon finds her in the woods in a bright yellow rain coat.
