With a bright smile plastered across her face, Athena continued to scroll through the many comments that she was receiving on her Instagram pictures. On the comments that she either laughed or smiled at, the brunette female decided to like them and respond to those users.
She had been much happier since she had broken down, and she knew that it was because she had released all of her emotions that she had bottled up. Although, she also knew that she wasn't completely over it and she wasn't fully recovered - not yet. The brunette female wasn't dumb, and she knew that she'd probably have another breakdown in the future, she didn't think that it would arrive as soon as it did though.
Unaware of the dangerous male who was approaching the house, Athena continued to mess with her phone and with her other hand, she gently stroked both of her dogs, which meant that she had to keep alternating which hand she was holding her phone with as they were both on the other sides of her.
The brunette's cheeks were still tinted red from the comments that Steven had put earlier, and she couldn't wait for him to arrive home as she always felt wanted around Steven. She always felt safe around Steven. She always felt loved around Steven.
A few years ago, Athena never thought that she would be engaged to somebody. A few years ago, Athena didn't even realise that she had a crush on Steven. A few years ago, Athena hadn't even thought about marriage.
Steven had changed everything.
Ever since the crash, Athena didn't like change. She thought it could only come negatively after her two best friends had died along with her unborn kid, but when she looked back on everything, she realised that change wasn't always negative.
If change didn't exist, then Athena and Steven wouldn't be engaged.
But, if change didn't exist, Abigail and Spencer would've still been alive.
Suddenly, a loud knock on the front door broke the female out of her thought process and she peeked up happily, placing her phone down on the coffee table in front of her. Instantly, the dogs flew off the chair and ran away from the door, heading straight to the bedroom so that they could look through the windows and see people and other animals. The female rolled her eyes, releasing a small sigh as she stood up and approached the front door, turning the keys to unlock the door and then swinging it open, not expecting to see who she did.
