Filled with anxiety and worry, Athena continued to pace around the living room and chewing on her fingernails as she waited for Steven, her ex-fiancé, to arrive. Nerves swarmed her entire body like a terrible disease making her unable to function properly. Her thoughts were all jumbled up while her body simply couldn't stop shaking, no matter what she did.
She thought that breaking up with Steven was the correct thing to do at the time, because he deserved to be with somebody who made him happy and live a stress-free life. However, she soon realised that Steven clearly didn't want them to break up – that was obvious from his reaction when she first mentioned them separating – and whether or not he wanted to live a stress free life was his choice – not hers.
On the drunken night out, Athena was filled with so much grief and she felt so empty, and her dumb, drunken mind decided that to fill that emptiness, she should hook up with another guy to try and replace Steven. The brunette soon realised that nobody could replace Steven – he was unique. Unlike many men, or people in general, he was extremely kind and caring. He was goofy and hilarious, sometimes a bit of a nerd, which Athena found adorable. He was loyal and he always remained positive, no matter how bad the situation seemed, and Athena admired him for that.
The brunette female just wanted to be happy.
After the deaths of her two beloved friends and her unborn child, the female was consumed with depression, causing her to have numerous breakdowns and flashbacks. Athena believed that the only way out was suicide at one point, but fortunately, her friends had arrived just in time to stop her. Travis had come back, making her believe that she was alone and nobody could save her, but she was proven wrong.
Athena always had someone to turn to.
Everyone always had someone to turn to.
It was like a flick had switched in her head when Athena realised that she needed to change her life for the better, because if Abi or Spencer were watching her from above then they would be highly disappointed in her, and probably cursing at her. Athena could hear their voices in her head telling her to "Shut the fuck up, stop whining, keep your chin up and fuck that Yeun Man, in a good way obviously. We want Baby Stathena."
And that's what drove Athena to be happy.
Within an instant, Athena's thoughts came to a halt when the sound of knocking at the door rang in her ears, making the brunette grow confused and concerned. Steven had a key to her house, therefore he wouldn't normally knock, and most of The Walking Dead cast had a key to her house thanks to Christian making numerous copies of her keys and giving it to several people (she did it with every person in the cast so that she could throw parties in different people's houses without permission).
