Momoko x guard!reader

Finally I got a new oneshot to post. God I got very sick yesterday >_> but eeeyy I'm doing better now. Btw I tried to do this one gender neutral... well I just had to put 'them' one time and that's it. Do I even have any male readers anyway? Or are y'all girls?

"Finally, done with those stupid questions..." You sighed after just having finished those 50 questions guards need to answer before going to the warden's office.

You were on your way to hand in some reports from your own building, building 10.

With a little smile, you walked into the room before the office and took a seat on one of the couches. You're always happy to see Momoko, as you two are close friends. You have been for years, and yes, you know about her crush on Hajime.

10 minutes later, you were asked to come in, after Kenshirou just left, he too had to hand in some reports.

You got up and happily entered the other room with the papers in your hands.

"Morning, Momoko! I've come to bring you the reports on building 10," You announced as you made your way over to her desk and handed her the reports.
Knowing that there's no need for formalities when it's just the two of you in the same room, you usually greet her by her first name, and so did she.

"Good work, (y/n). Has there been any trouble?" She asked, scanning the reports with her eyes.

"No trouble at all," You proudly answered.

"Glad to hear that. Now, I've been thinking of giving you a little reward for your hard work. I know I shouldn't give any guards such special treatment, but I noticed you've been working exceptionally hard the past few weeks, not to mention that you are a close friend as well," She stood up from her chair and walked over to you, "Close your eyes. And no peeking."

"O... Okay... If you say so..." Hesitant, you closed your eyes. Technically it was an order from the warden, so you felt the need to obey.

But still, this seemed a bit weird to you. You don't recall working 'exceptionally hard', and why do you have to close your eyes? Is she going to give you a little gift without any wrapping paper around it? But... then why is she still standing before you? Is she hiding it in one of the pockets of her uniform? Or is it to make sure you're not peeking?

And why is it taking so long? You've had your eyes closed for at least 3 minutes now.

"Uhm... can I open my eyes yet?"

"N-No, don't! It'll ruin the surprise!"

Little do you know that she's in fact just building up her courage to give you the very special reward. It's not just a random gift, it's a gift you never imagined to receive from her...

First, you felt two hands on your shoulders. And then... two lips softly pressed on your own. Upon realizing what was happening, your first reaction was pushing her away, obviously surprised by what she was doing.

"A... k-kiss?!" Your face turned red as you looked at her in shock. What kind of reward is that? And... why you?

"Yes... that's... your reward..." Slightly disappointed by the way you responded, Momoko looked down, afraid you're now mad at her.

'Oh gosh, why did I do that? Why did I kiss (y/n)? Why did I have to catch feelings for them...?' She thought to herself, panicking about the chance that you might not want to be friends with her anymore-- and not in the way of it going from friendship to relationship, 'I knew it was a bad idea...'

Having calmed down from her unexpected move, you moved closer to her.

"Momoko...? Why did you do that? I thought you had a huge crush on Hajime?"

You already thought something was up, as lately she no longer obsessed about him when you two were having a typical best friend conversation, and anytime you asked her about her crush, she avoided it by changing the subject. Though you never questioned it.

"I did. But those feelings began to fade when I met you," She admitted, "I'm sorry if you didn't like it, I can imagine that. But I don't wanna hide it any longer. I want you to know what I feel for you, and... that I want more than a friendship with you. I-If you... don't feel the same then that's okay, but please... don't leave me because of this... "

After hearing this, you smiled and hugged her, thinking it's kinda adorable, her crush on you. You've never thought of her that way, but who knows, maybe you will develop a lil crush on her too in a while.

"Gosh, no need to be afraid of that. I won't leave you," You whispered, breaking the hug while still keeping your arms around her, "That kiss was... kinda unexpected, but... I'm willing to do it again."

"Are you sure about that...?"

"Absolutely..."

This time, it was you who kissed her, and this time it lasted longer than a few seconds.

And neither of you seemed to hear the door opening after a few knocks.

"Ma'am? I've forgotten to inform you about--" Kenshirou, who was the one to open the door and peek his head into the room, was silenced by shock. The warden... the woman he has a crush on, kissing (y/n) from building 10?!

He felt his heart break into a million pieces as he closed the door again.

'First Hajime, now (y/n)?! Will... she ever notice me...?'

I call this chapter 'The death of Kenshirou'
