Taking a deep breath, you knocked on the door to Kenshirou's office.

Ever since the new year's tournament weeks ago, a certain inmate, number 634, caught your interest. That is, because he reminds you of your high school best friend, whom you haven't seen in years. The thought that they could actually be the same person wouldn't leave your head.

"Come in." The voice on the other side of the door said.

You opened the door and stepped inside, waiting for Kenshirou to look up from his work to listen to what you have to say.

"(y/n)? What brings you here?" He asked when he finally looked up at you.

"I have a question... A-About... that one inmate here in building 4. Number 634." You tried to sound confident, but a voice in your head told you he'd probably say no to your question, which made you nervous and has been keeping you from going to ask him about it for weeks now.

But today, you decided that you have to know for sure whether the inmate is who you think he is, or not.

"Number 634? What is it? What do you want to know about him?"

"I was wondering if I could see him."

You both stared at each other in silence, Kenshirou thinking of a way to put it nicely that you're not allowed to do so without it disappointing you too much, and you thinking of a way to convince him to let you see him when he says no.

"I'm very sorry, but--" Kenshirou spoke up, but was quickly cut off by you.

"Please just a few minutes I really need to talk to him!" You blurted out, covering your mouth with your hands right after, feeling bad for being so rude towards a supervisor.

"And why do you need to talk to him?" Kenshirou asked you with a calm voice which put you a little more at ease.

"When I saw him at the tournament, he reminded me of my best friend in high school. And, I think there is a chance he could be the same person. But to be sure I just need to hear his voice one more time. Please..." You put up your best puppy eyes, hoping to convince him.

And it did.

"Alright... Follow me." With a sigh, Kenshirou got up and walked out of the room, with you happily following after him.

-----

"Why is he in the underground cell?" You asked the taller man as you both stepped out of the elevator.

"You've seen what happened at the tournament, right?"

"Oh, right..."

The events of that day replayed in your mind. Of course an inmate should be in the underground cell after that. You could've known.

-----

"Number 634, you have a guest." Kenshirou told the inmate once you had reached the cell.

"A guest...? Who could that be?" The inmate came up to the cell bars.

That little bit of his voice was enough to bring you to tears; it really is him. You moved closer, examining him as he looked quite different from how you remember. No eyes, scars, darker skin... It felt like a stab in your heart, thinking of what he must've been through.

"Musashi...? Is that really you?" With a hint of worry in your voice, you looked up at him to see a somewhat confused yet surprised expression appear on his face.

"...(y/n)?"

As he put his arm through the bars, reaching for your face, you grabbed his hand and placed it against your cheek, smiling at the feeling of his warmth on your skin. You missed it...

"Yes, it's me. I finally found you again..."

The only thing that could be heard for the following few minutes was your uncontrollable crying. You had been searching for him for years, and somehow ended up in the same place.

It felt like a dream to you. So unreal, such a big coincidence.

"C-Can I go into the cell...?" You asked the guard behind you.

You didn't think he'd let you, you were very lucky he even allowed you to go down here after you used your puppy eyes on him, but much to your surprise, he opened the cell door for you.

You jumped up and thanked Kenshirou, then went into the cell and hugged your best friend.

"I-I missed you... s-s-so m-much..." You stuttered through your sobbing.

"I missed you too (y/n). I'd be crying right now if I still had my eyes."

You both laughed, and spent the rest of the day together; there was a lot to talk about.

Way too much actually, which is why you'd come to visit him at least once a day from then on.

I had a lot of trouble writing this, I'm still not happy with how it turned out ;;;

School has started again, and I'm already so stressed aaarrgghh >_< Expect slow (even slower yes) updates from now on, I'm having a hard time writing these weeks because of school and a lack of inspiration. I have lots of ideas but just can't seem to make it into a good story... So I'm sorry for slow updates, but don't worry I will do my best to keep working on the requests;;
