Nico x inmate!reader

Sorry this one's so short and simple >_< 

The words are still echoing through your head;
"You need to go see the doctor."
Nothing serious, just a simple check-up, but it still frightens you. For as long as you can remember, you've been scared of doctors. Nico knows of your phobia, and had tried to reassure you that it'll be alright, because the doctor here at Nanba is very kind according to him, but you refused to believe it.

After breakfast that morning, you sneaked away from the others to go to one of your many hiding places.
"Nobody will find me here," You crawled into the small space, and pulled up your legs so you could fit in it, "I ain't going to that doctor. No way."

You sat like that for, how long? Hours?
"My check-up should be soon... I wonder if they'd look for me..." You whispered to yourself.
You don't know this doctor you'd go to. What if he does need to give you an injection? Or you need medication for an illness you might have, and take pills every morning and evening. Just thinking about it sent shivers through your whole body. Not only seeing the doctor scared you, but things like needles and pills did too. You were scared of the pain the needles would cause, and accidentally choking on a pill.

But you knew that if you avoided your check-up today, you'd have to go tomorrow. There's no escape.

After half an hour of trying to decide whether you'd go now, or tomorrow, you heard a familiar voice calling out for you.
"(y/n)? I know you're here somewhere! I know all your hiding spots!"
You quietly listened to the footsteps of your friend Nico. They were coming closer, stopping right before the place you were sitting.
"(y/n)? Are you there?"
Knowing that he'd find you anyway, you came out of your spot.
"I should've never shown you all the places I use to hide..." You sighed, sitting against a wall, drawing circles on the floor with your finger.
"Why were you hiding? Are you still that afraid of the doctor?" Nico asked, a worried tone in his voice as he sat in front of you.
"Yes... I really really don't wanna go..."
"But there's nothing to be afraid of! And you know we'll all go with you."
That thought made it seem a little less scary for you.

"I... don't really have a choice but to go, do I?" You asked more to yourself than to Nico, standing up to go see the doctor, helping your friend up as well.
"Don't worry (y/n)! If it helps, I can hold your hand." Not even waiting for your answer to that idea, Nico smiled and grabbed your hand, holding it tightly.

"Thanks, I... I think this might help, yeah..."
While walking to the doctor's office, it was as if your fear had disappeared just because your friend was holding your hand. You actually felt... safe, knowing that he was right next to you.

Next time you wouldn't even try to hide anymore.
