This was originally something I wrote for a friend, but I decided to post it here anyway. (Btw please tell me if it bothers you guys that I put guard!reader or inmate!reader because I can understand if it's annoying)
(b/o/c) = building of choice
You had been working as a guard in (b/o/c) at Nanba Prison for a while now, and everything was going well. Though, there was something strange going on. Whenever you were alone, a mysterious blonde guy who called himself Elf, would show up. Who exactly he was and what he was doing at Nanba, you had no idea. You had asked him those questions many times, but he always changed the topic. At first, you were annoyed by his presence, but the more often it happened, the more you started to look forward to see him again. Distancing yourself from the other people and being found alone most of the time, you hoped that you could see him even more. Were you in love with the guy? Or just curious because you barely knew anything about him?
After you checked on a few inmates, you went to the roof, which was now yours and Elf's usual hangout. As if he knew you'd come, you found him sitting on the railing.
"Ah, (y/n), we meet again, hmm?"
"I'm just taking a break from work." Refusing to admit that you just wanted to see him, you leaned on the railing, looking over the ocean.
"Yeah, yeah, you've been taking an awful lot of breaks lately."
"Working in a prison can be tough."
In a moment of peaceful silence, you thought of what to ask him first. There were so many questions, so much mystery around this guy. You wanted to know everything about him.
"Say, Elf, why are y--"
"So when are you gonna admit that you just wanted to see me?"
This... is what usually happened whenever you wanted to ask him something.
"I was going to ask you something! Don't interrupt me..." Slightly irritated, you crossed your arms and looked the other way.
"I'll answer any question, if you answer mine first."
Knowing that you wouldn't get any answers otherwise, you told him the truth.
"Well... yeah, I did want to see you. But only because I have a lot to ask you." Feeling that you were blushing, you quickly turned your back to him to hide it. Why were you blushing? Were you really in love?
"Good girl... Now I'll answer all of your questions~"
Elf whispering that into your ear, while putting his arm around you, still sent shivers down your spine, even though you were used to it. You had known him for a while now, and he was always like this.
"R-Right... So what is it that you're doing here at Nanba? Why are you here?"
"What I'm doing here? Hmm..." Now standing before you, he thought about the thing you had been trying to ask anytime you two saw each other, yet he never did answer it.
"Let's just say I found something I like, and I want to have it."
"And that is?"
"A secret, of course. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll figure out what it is soon."
Something he likes and wants to have... what could that be? What could you possibly want to have that's here in this prison?
"So? Anything else you wanna know?"
"...Why are you stalking me?"
Elf covered his mouth with his hand as if he were surprised.
"Me? Stalking you?"
"Yes... you're stalking me, aren't you?"
"No I'm not. It's pure coincidence that I'm wherever you are when you're alone. I wouldn't dare stalk a girl like you."
You knew better than that. He was obviously stalking you. But it didn't bother you, in fact, you kinda liked it. However, he never showed up at your apartment. Was there a reason for that?
"Can I ask you another question?"
"Sure, go ahead."
"How come I only see you when I'm at work, and not when I'm at my apartment?"
...Sadly, that question was left unanswered, as Elf had suddenly disappeared.
"...Elf?" Looking around you, there was no trace of him.
"Elf get back here you idiot! You didn't answer my question!"
Sighing, you thought to yourself; 'Maybe it's better if I don't know the reason behind that, whatever it is...'*Later that day*
You were done with work, and walking upstairs to your apartment. You hadn't seen Elf for the rest of the day. Well, at least he did answer some of your questions this time, instead of avoiding them.
You opened the door to your small but cozy apartment. Taking off your uniform's jacket and hanging it on your coat rack, you heard someone knocking. On your balcony door. Looking into that direction, you saw Elf waving at you from outside. You walked towards the door and opened it.
"(y/n), we meet again! What a coincidence, right?"
"Whatever. Come in."
Making his way into your room, he dropped himself onto your bed.
"Aren't you happy to see me?"
"I'm always happy to see you. It just pissed me off that you left without answering me, or at least saying bye..." Standing before the mirror, you were busy trying to take off your tie, but you were a bit nervous as Elf was in your room now, and ended up turning it into one big knot somehow.
"Need some help?"
"No, I can do it myself."
Desperately trying to get that thing off you, but with no result, you gave up.
"Okay fine, help me."
Elf appeared before you, and untied it with ease.
"Who's the idiot now, hmm?"
"Shut up... It's your fault for making me nervous!"
"Ooh, am I making you nervous? Yeah, I'm very good at that."
Ignoring what he just said, you brushed your hair.
"Why didn't you answer my last question today?"
"The one about why I never come to your apartment? Simple, I wanted to surprise you by showing up here tonight."
"And why is that?"
When there was no answer, you turned to look at him, but he was nowhere to be found.
"Tsk. He thinks he's funny or something?"
After you had put your hairbrush away, you felt Elf hugging you from behind, with his arms tightly around your middle.
"Elf? W-What are you--"
"Shall I tell you a secret?" He whispered with a soft, yet still a little bit creepy voice.
"Sure... I guess..."
"Remember when I said I found something I like, and I want to have it? That 'something' is you, (y/n)... I really wanted to tell you tonight. I couldn't wait anymore..."
What was he saying? He wanted to have you? You thought you misunderstood it at first, but he really just said that.
"But... why did you never come to my apartment before then?"
"Geez, can you stop questioning everything? Or should I make you shut up~?"
Letting go of you, he walked around in your apartment.
"You got a pretty nice place here."
"Thanks..." You lied down on your bed and grabbed a book you started reading the other day. But after only a minute, you were interrupted. Elf, who was now on top of you, took the book out of your hands.
"It's not very polite to read a book when you have a guest now is it?"
"...Get off me."
"Oh come on, you were asking for it."
"No I wa--"
"Shhh." Pushing his finger against your lips, you felt your cheeks turning red. Sure, you did it on purpose, you wanted this to happen, but knowing barely anything about this guy made it a bit scary.
"Don't worry, (y/n), this will be fun, and you'll love it..."
Not giving you any time to respond to that, he leaned in, and kissed you. The kiss was softer than you'd expect from someone like him, and quite addictive as well. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you didn't want this to end. You were wondering why you never thought of kissing him, you two were always alone anyway. But it didn't matter anymore. Because you were certain that this wouldn't be the last kiss.
