"Okay so who wants to explain the maze?" Fry asked beginning the long talk we all were about to have.

"Thomas," a few of us muttered under our breath as he rolled his eyes.

"The maze was designed as a test for all the immune kids. Wicked wanted to see how their brains worked differently than non immunes that gives them the cure. I don't remember much, thanks to the changing," he glared up at me as I opened my mouth and made a pfft noise with my mouth.

"We know one person comes up per month and one girl per year. We were just lucky we got this shank over any of the other girls," Minho smirked but Gally hit him over the head which made me and Newt laugh.

"So you had two other girls?" The mother of Minho asked.

"We did. Their names were Beatrice and... and Teresa," i sighed and noticed Thomas looking to the floor. Brenda wrapped her arms around Thomas's shoulder and comforted him. We had lost Teresa, I was told, on the rescue for me.

The subject of Beatrice was all touchy for me since she was my best friend in the glade. She was the first girl I saw in a year and we instantly clicked. But the glade became too much, and she jumped.

"Who went up first? You said one a month so who started the whole thing?" My dad asked beside me.

"All of us, mostly," Newt chimed in. "Us four went in first." Newt pointed at the ring Frypan, Gally and Minho made sitting on small chairs.

"All together? I thought-" he continued but I decided to cut him off.

"The first twenty boys went up together to kick start the process. It wasn't until a month later that the box started coming up with a new greenie."

"Who was it?"

"Me," I whispered even through everyone could here.

"So that means only four of you know what it was like in the box?" Thomas's mother asked and I shook my head.

"No only (Y/N) and I. Those two weren't in the maze. We met them in the Scorch," Thomas explained.

"What was it like waking up in that box?" Chuck's mom asked after she composed herself.

"It's nothing but frightening. Think about waking up inside a moving dark lift bringing you somewhere you don't know. And then waking up surrounded by these shanks was the worst of it," I smiled as Newt tugged on me.

"Okay so i heard something about a changing. What the bloody hell is that?" Newt's mother asked. I couldn't help but smirk seeing the parents of the boy I was in love with.

"That's what happens when you get stung,"
Frypan added.

"There were these large spider like machine guarding the maze. They had stingers on them and if it got you, you were inevitably dead. Well except three of us," Gally said looking down at Thomas and I. "You would go through a week of torture and pain regaining some of your memories in the most agonizing way. If not given the serum, the person will turn insane and loose all control of their mind... kinda like the flare."

"Who?" Thomas's mother asked.

"Thomas, Gally and myself," I said before pursing my lips.

"What?! You had to go through that? Why the hell would the those boys let that happen?" My dad yelled glaring at the boys behind me.

"Wait dad this wasn't there fault. I was a runner and I got stung. They saved me!" I said and realized all eyes were on us.

"Was it really torture?" He asked sounding hurt with a croaked voice.

"Yes," I sighed and looked at Thomas and Gally. They were the only two who knew the excruciating pain it was. "But it actually helped us escape the maze."

"Yeah but it didn't help this shank for not leaving your side for a week," Minho chuckled and pointed at Newt.

"That was the day we made you a track hoe," he smiled and pecked my forehead as I curled into his chest. He was keeping me calm through all this.

"What's a track hoe?" Newt's father asked eying me. Oh great! His father didn't like me! I've been stuck in a maze with grievers for three years and I come out and the guy I loved father doesn't like me? Great.

"We had jobs in the glade and each job was led by a keeper," Fry exclaimed. "I was keeper of cooks."

"I was keeper of runners," Minho added.

"Keeper of builders."

"Second in command," Newt added as I saw Minho roll his eyes but smile.

"Track hoe, which is like a gardener," I said thinking over my jobs. Before I became a runner, I was a track hoe so I assumed that since most of my time was in the gardens, that was my job. But in the end I just followed Newt where he went and Alby was fine with it.

"I was never actually given a job," Thomas sighed.

"You sure as bloody hell did. You were a runner for a shuck day Tommy. Thanks to me," Newt said lightly kicking his back.

"What did you kids do everyday? I mean was all you guys did was work?" The woman i assumed was Minho's mother asked.

"No we had fun. Every time there was a new greenie we'd have a bonfire," Minho said.

"They were so much fun. We'd all just party for the night by the fire watching me fight any of the guys willing to challenge me," Gally said puffing out his chest.

"Or everyone was too busy drinking your special drink to pay any attention," I giggled remembering the foul tasting drink that we came to love.

"That drink was terrible! How did you guys drink that?" Thomas yelled with most disgusted face.

"Because for a minute we forgot your dumb shank ass put us in the maze," Minho remarked as we all laughed as Thomas's red cheeks.

"Where did you sleep?" Thomas's mother asked.

"The keepers all shared a room in the homestead and (Y/N) and Newt shared a hut in the woods. The rest of them all slept together in hammocks in the center of the glade," Gally said.

"You two shared a room?" Newt's mother asked pointing to me.

"Is it just me or do those shanks parents hate their relationship?" Fry asked as I rolled my eyes through my red cheeks.

"Its not that darling. It's just I haven't seen my son for over 10 years and I hear there's this girl in his life. It's just a lot to process," she explained giving me a sympathetic smile.

"Yeah but a griever infested maze isn't," Thomas mumbled under his breath before Brenda hit him over the head.

"Can we talk about those shanks love life after we're gone? I'm tired of seeing their sappy love," Minho groaned as Gally hit his shoulder and whispered something in his ear.

"Y'know Gally watched us while we were in the Scorch," I mumbled to Newt.

"Wait he watched us? All of-" he asked before I nodded.

"Are you shucking me?" Minho yelled looking at us before hunching over laughing.

"Gally! Why did you watch?" Newt yelled as I begged for this conversation to be over.
