* So I was just having a bad day, and thought of this. It's not all that good but it's still really sad so enjoy!
Also, I'm going to say this because I'm tired of the comments. I know Sonya and Newt are siblings but I did not want to make a whole new character for this. So just pretend they aren't, alright? *
Look I'm happy you're all reunited but she has a shuck bullet in her shoulder," Minho grunted.
While we were sitting around small fire waiting for daybreak, we were ambushed by flying bullets. I happened to push Newt out of the way of one although it landed in my left shoulder.
Newt had his arm around my hip as I buried my head in his upper arm. It hurt like hell. It hurt worse than a griever sting and I would know all about that. I also could feel the bacteria infected the wound since these bullets were not kept clean. This meant the stinging wound was infected.
"On right. Sorry about that," the blonde girl named Sonya said. Her eyes wandered over Newt as he returned the same glance. A wave of jealous toppled over me as the tears pooled in my eyes. No one bothered asking if I was okay because they all assumed it was because of the shot. It had been a mix of both.
The two girls, and aris, led us through three different tunnels until a large gate swung open for us. Newt's arm stayed around my waist although it somehow slid upwards; something that would seem unrelated except when you noticed the glances him and Sonya gave to each other.
"We'll take you to Nick. After that you'll get food," Harriet said as a man and a woman approached us.
The man had gray hair with patches of black and dark green eyes. He had white stubble growing on his shin and cheeks blending in with his hair. The woman had medium length dyed black hair and crystal blue eyes, similar to Teresa's.
"Welcome. A friend of Sonya and Harriet is a friend to us," the woman greeted. Aris had been stationed between Harriet and Sonya but once again, Sonya's eyes were on my boyfriend.
"I can see you've survived the Scorch. I'm impressed," the man chuckled.
My feet swayed underneath me as my vision became blurry. My head swirled as I lost grip of my legs and fell into Newt beside me.
"Can one of you shanks fix her? I mean it was her shuck fault!" Minho growled and pointed at Sonya. You would think Newt wouldn't be so mesmerized with the girl who tried to kill him and instead injuring me.
"Oh alright. Take her to Jeremy," the woman instructed as a man came towards me.
Newt suddenly loosened his grip causing me to collapse on the floor.
"Newt!" Minho and Frypan yelled.
Minho gripped my shoulders and flipped me on my back. My eyes became unbearably heavy as my arm pulsated burning pain.
Minho picked me off the ground bridal style as newt bent down to check on me. I looked up at him with a tear sliding down my cheek. I knew why he dropped me. He was too busy gawking over Sonya he let go of me.
My vision turned black as I lost feeling in my hands as they fell under me. I allowed the darkness to swallow me as I heard a few angry remarks from Minho to Newt.
-----
My eyes opened to the blinding light above me. My eyes fluttered before opening wide to take in my surroundings. I propped myself on my elbows. I was inside a large tent with different medical supplies filling the room.
"(Y/N) are you okay?" Minho asked beside me as I sat up with my hands in my lap. I was a little upset newt wasn't in here but honestly I wasn't surprised.
"Yeah I'm-" I said before feeling the pain tear through my arm. I winced in pain as I squinted my eyes shut and gripped my shoulder.
"Don't strain yourself honey," he teased and moved my eyes to his. "Are you okay?"
"I'm alive if that's what you mean," I sighed and picked at the dirt under my fingernails. "Where's Newt?"
"Last I saw he was with Sonya. I don't trust that shank one bit. Well neither of them," he remarked inside a forced laugh.
"Do you think she's prettier than me? Well I mean yes she is, look at his he looks at her. He never looked at me like that," I said in my lowest voice possible. I was jealous but I knew newt loved me. Right?
"You're definitely prettier. Want me to go get him?" I grabbed his hands and pulled him into a tight hug.
"If you don't mind," I grinned as he rolled his eyes and left the tent.
I pushed the covers off my legs and allowed them to swing off the bed. Seconds later, Newt came into the room with a different expression. He looked worried as well as nervous with his eyes on the floor.
"Newt are you okay?" His eyes darted to me before moving back to the floor. He moved slowly, almost in a tiptoe, as he stood a foot from me.
"I'm fine. How's your arm?" He rubbed his arm with his hand looking terribly uncomfortable.
"Newt what's wrong?" I hopped off the bed, staggering a little before catching my balance. I reached my arm out to grab but he jerked his body backwards from me. It hurt me devastatingly but I swallowed my tears.
"We need to talk," he sighed and shoved his hands into his pockets. "I can't be with you anymore."
"W-what?" I staggered as I felt my head spin with an aching chest.
"I just don't think this is gonna work out anymore. We're not in the glade anymore. I'm sorry but I just can't be with you." I stood silent with my eyes on the floor. Everything in me hurt as I brought my arms to my stomach to hug myself. "(Y/N) I-"
"Don't. Save your breath. I just hope Sonya's everything you wanted," I said as I clung to the air that wasn't reaching my lungs. My chest was tightening as my vision clouded with tears as well as the numb feeling in my head.
"I do love you. This is for our own good." His words were like a slap in the face. I turned around to give him just that but he had already left the tent.
My legs were tugged from underneath me as I crashed on my knees. The tears came in waves from them on. They would hit like a wall and eventually even out until a second wall would smash into me.
This felt like it went on for years although only ten minutes had passed when Minho came into the tent. He quickly ran to me and scooped me into his arms with my head on his chest. Minho had always been there to comfort me.
"He told me what he did. That shuckface doesn't know what's coming. When I get my shuck hands in him-" Minho's voice was a dangerous growl before my hand over his mouth stopped him.
"You don't need to threaten him. He's still your best friend." I felt a sudden spurge of energy as I grabbed his hands and raised. He somehow knew what I meant and rose to his feet before pulling me up as well.
"You're gonna be okay. You're my tough glade queen," he smirked which only made me giggle.
"Thanks Minho. Would you mind taking me for food? I mean I haven't eaten since... how long have I been out?"
"Two days. I never left you except once, well okay maybe twice but I was hungry," he stuttered as I giggled and took his hand.
"Well come on then. I'm starving, and you're always starving so let's go," I chuckled and pulled him out of the tent after quickly checking my hair and wet cheeks. I looked decent.
"Come on your highness," he teased, and took my hand again.
"You're the maze girl?" A man said behind me causing me to jump slightly. I spun around to face him with Minho's hand still in mine.
He was a tall boy with a muscular build. He had sore brown eyes, as if he was tired out and spiked black hair, similar to Minho's. I had to admit he was a pretty handsome guy.
"I am. I'm also the girl whom one of your people shot," I glared with a hint of a smile to show i was in fact joking.
"Yeah sorry about that. Promise it won't happen again. For now I want to escort you to the food tent," he said with his elbow out for me to take.
My mouth fumbled for words as I looked up at Minho. He gave me a reassuring nod and took control. "She would love to."
"Thanks," I whispered, squeezing his hand.
I slipped my arm into the boys with a soft smile. Newt didn't love me so why couldn't I do this with another boy.
"I'm Jax by the way. And you are?" The walk was through a camp ground with white tents, all shapes and sizes, large green tanks and different pick up trucks scattered in different crevices.
"I'm (Y/N)," I said weakly as I pushed a piece of hair behind my ear.
The boy began ranting on about how this place, the Right Arm, was made. My mind wandered to Newt as my eyes begged for me to cry again.
I was able to swallow them until the horror show came into view. Newt was sitting in front of a fire with his arm secured around Sonya. She grabbed his cheeks and placed his lips on cheek. She was kissing him, and he was allowing it!
My heart cracked as I suddenly froze, my eyes locked on the ground. He never looked at me like that.
"Oh Newt and Sonya. Those two hit it off the second he got here. Heard he dumped some girl before this," Jax said as my hand covered my mouth.
"Yeah I was the lousy girl before and it ended only ten shuck minutes ago!" I yelled although the commotion around me seemed to keep all eyes off me.
Suddenly hands were around my waist and I was pulled from the boy who stood looking almost sorry for me. I didn't want his sympathy, I wanted Newt.
"Just give her a minute," Minho yelled to Jax who turned to the couple still engulfed in each other.
Minho carried me to a ledge two stories above the camp. He set me on the ground with his arms around me. I pulled his neck to me as my tears moistened his shirt.
"I'm sorry," I chanted rhythmically through his soft shushes.
"It's okay (Y/N). He really is a dumb shank," he said as I felt nothing in me want to laugh. I was too heart broken and empty to laugh ever again.
"Minho you should go back with others. They'll miss you. Wait where's Tommy and Fry?" I suddenly lost the tears as I worried about my two fellow gladers.
"They're over there. I thought you would want to be alone for a second. So I'll be right there until you want to join us," Minho replied. His lips pecked my forehead before he sauntered over to another ledge out of my sight.
I pulled my legs into my chest with my forehead on my knees. I replayed all of our best memories like a movie in my head except this time they were horror movies.
I toppled over and curled into a ball with the sounds of crinkling fire and my sobs singing me to sleep. He was the one thing keeping me going through the Scorch knowing how many other people we lost. I would never be okay again. I would never be happy again.
