#58: How to; School hair, makeup + outfits
If you need help fixing up your look for school, don't know what to wear, what makeup you should wear for school or need a pretty hair style for school, then I suggest you keep reading. In this tutorial I'll tell you how to style your hair for school, how much makeup you should put on for school and some cute outfits that you can wear.
1. Hair - Styling your hair is an important if you want to look pretty for your day. It's the little things that matter and doing your hair just shows that you've put in some effort to look good.
Basics:
If you are not a morning person, just don't like making your hair look too fancy for school or simply have no time then just go with something simple and basic. It's better than going to school with your frizzy morning hair that hasn't been brushed at all.
So you can try just straightening your hair, tying your hair into a high ponytail - also pull out a few strands from behind your ears to make it look a bit messy, just curling the tips of your hair if you've got straight hair. If you think that it's annoying managing your hair the whole day but still want to curl/ straighten it then you can clip it back to prevent it from coming in front of your face.
Try tying your hair into a side pony tail and taking a small section of hair, wrap it around your hair band and clip it secure. This makes it look like you've tied your hair with your hair. It's simple but pretty. You can try doing a simple braid or two.
You can even try something as simple as a messy bun. Also if you don't want to do anything at all with your hair just add some pretty looking clips or just a nice headband.
If you've got some more time, try:
The top knot is a simple yet classy hair, so just mess up your hair a bit, tie it into a very high pony tail. Then twist the rest of your hair around to make a ballerina kind of bun. Then just tug on a few strands to make it a bit messy. You can try a braided headband too which you can see how to do in tutorial number #2. Just be creative with your hair, make it look how you think is nice.
2. Makeup: For school you don't want to put on too much makeup, you should keep it simple. Use as less as you possibly can.
Step 1.
You don't want to have too much foundation on because it's only school, you don't want to end up looking too cakey. So unless you have alot of acne, pimples or have a very uneven skin tone don't use foundation. Instead look for something with less coverage like a bb cream. So depending on what you need use either a bb cream or foundation to start off.
Step 2.
Unless you have very dark under eye circles or blemishes that haven't been covered properly by your foundation, you shouldn't use concealer. So it's optional, you can use concealer if you think you need it.
Step 3.
Take an eye shadow colour lighter than your own skin but not too light and using an eyeshadow brush cover your eye lid with it. Then taking a darker kind of brown colour, use your eyeshadow brush to blend it into your crease.
Step 4.
I don't really think eyeliner is necessary for school but if you really want to put on eyeliner, then just take a liquid eyeliner and draw a very thin line along your upper lash line.
Step 5.
A bit of mascara is essential for every look, so grab your favorite mascara. Remember you're not going to a party, it's only school so use half as much as you normally would. Try and keep them looking natural but at the same time long.
Step 6.
Finish off the look by adding a bit of blush to the apples of your cheeks and also some lip balm or lip gloss. If you want to add some colour to your lips; choose something not so bright and flashy. Go for a colour closest to your actual lip colour, like a light pink, a peach or dark nude pink.
3. Outfits for school: You want to keep your outfit for school cute and stylish but not like something you'd see on a runway or you'd wear to a disco. Here are a couple of outfit.
If you would like to see pictures of the outfits; there's a picture to the side + the link will be in the external link.
Outfit Number 1:
For your top wear a chiffon blouse, preferably white or a cream colour. To pair with your top wear some dark blue skinny jeans. For your shoes try some gold coloured flats, white or a tan colour will do too. To accessorize put on a white watch or any kind of watch. This look is really simple but cute at the same time.
Outfit Number 2:
This outfit is a bit more dressy. So for your top wear a dress with a collar perferably maroon. For your 'pants' wear some long black socks that reach just below your knees. For your shoes wear a pair of maroon coloured vans or if your dress isn't maroon then try and match your shoes with the colour your dress is. To accessorize put on some cute silver midi rings.
Outfit Number 3:
For your top just a basic white short sleeve top and onto a denim vest. To pair your outfit so far try a printed skater skirt. It can have any print just make sure it's pretty and colourful! For your shoes I think Lily's would look nice with the outfit and for accessories a bit of gold colored bracelets and rings.
