#54: How to; DIY Makeup remover

There are billions of makeup removers out in the drugstore. Okay maybe not billions, but you catch my drift? Firstly, there are wipes, which can tug on your skin harshly. And when you think that you removed all of your makeup, think again. There are heaps of nasties there clogging your pores deep down. Secondly, you have the deep cleansing face washes which are alright, but if you have  super duper sensitive/acne skin this will be a disaster and you'll just break out into a hive. Believe me you don't want this to happen, I'm telling you from personal experience. Thirdly, you have the cleansing waters, which do a pretty good job but don't really get inside your pores properly. Obviously, keep in mind that different products work for different types of people. Basically if you love natural skin care or your looking for a much more gentle alternative to your makeup remover-this just might be the tutorial for you!

DIY Makeup remover

Ingredients/Materials:

-Extra Virgin Olive Oil

-Aloe Vera Water(you can find this in most drugstores, health/grocery stores but normal filtered water will work just as great!)

-A bottle (make sure it has it's lid because we're gonna be shaking alot)

-A couple of cotton pads

Note: Why are we using Aloe Vera and Olive Oil?

Some of you may be wondering why the hell are we slapping on a the goey insides of a plant and oily oil on our face. Well you might be surprised when I tell you. Aloe Vera is actually used in herbal medicines to soothe your skin. And since it's made up of 95% water, it does shitloads the hydrate and moisturize your lovely face :) Now onto Extra Virgin Olive Oil. There's nothing to be afraid of putting oil on your face, believe it or not. Did you know that most store bought makeup removers either leave your skin dry or clog your pores? It's because they are filled with un-natural chemicals in them, which does a harsh job to your skin. When using these chemical products, it can leave the natural oil balance on your skin uneven, which is why we are using EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). Hopefully I didn't leave you too bored with that mini science-y/beauty class, now let's get started!

-Method:

Step 1- Pour just less than a cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil into a bottle of Aloe Vera Water.

Step 2- Obviously the oil will just sit on top of the water lazily, so that's why we need to shake things up a bit. Actually, no a frikin lot. Shake until you feel as if your arm is about to fall off (jks-no srly).

Step 3- After your mixture is thoroughly shaken, place it on a cotton pad befrore the little bugger seperates again. Then, gently place it on one of your eyelids, make sure to keep it there for about 5 seconds then swipe it away. Repeat this process with your other eye, then your entire face. Now you have a fresh, butt-naked complexion!
