Newt's POV.

Thomas literally dragged me out of the medical hut. I was fuming because I felt like I needed to stay with Hannah, but her condition wasn't changing. She took me over to the bar,the bonfire was already lot, and ordered me one of Gally's specialties.

"Get that down you." He said as he shoved it into my grasp. I turned my head away and he looked me firmly on the eyes. "I'll pour it down your throat, and you KNOW I'm serious." He was actually the kind of person who'd do that so I had no choice. Taking a small sip, I let my body relax. All the stress and worries flowed out of me. I sat down near the fire and just relaxed. I only had a few drinks that night and it seemed to get late pretty quick. I began making my way back to the medical hut as everyone else headed for the homestead.

"No no. Come on." Jade said, grabbing my shoulders and dragging me in the opposite direction.

"B-but..." My words were slurred and I could barely stand. I was too tired to even think.

"No buts, you are getting a proper nights sleep." She pulled me into my room and threw me into the bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow my eyes fell shut. "That didn't take long?" I heard Jade say as I drifted off. During the night I was interrupted but a series of flashbacks. The main one being my attempt suicide. I'd forgotten the main reason why I ever wanted to kill myself... Until that night. I remembered my first year in The Glade, I had been a runner for the majority of it. I remembered running through the Maze one evening with Minho on our way home, when a greiver jumped out of the wall and attacked us. No matter how much we struggled, we couldn't escape from underneath it. I remembered the feeling of the cold, metal claws slashing at our bodies. Minho eventually got out unharmed but me? It stung me, in my leg. As I slept, I felt the excruciating pain surge through my body once more. Every minute of that dream felt real. It carried on, Minho carried me out of the Maze and into the medical hut. I spent days in there recovering when eventually I did. Or so, I thought I did. The next day I carried out my work as usual but would be interrupted by many dizzy spells. I left the gardens and headed over to the wall. I started to climb. People gathered beneath me and yelled for me to come down. As I reached the top of the vines, I snapped out of whatever daze I was in. Realising my situation, I thought about the benefits. Climbing back down could mean more suffering, sweats, dizziness or I could even become sick again. Then I looked at it as if I was to fall. No suffering and I'd be out of this hell hole, so I went for it. The second I hit the ground my eyes shot open and I gasped for breath. I felt a hand on my chest as I painted for air.

"It's okay! I'm here." A soft voice said. It was Hannah's. I looked around the room but could not see her anywhere. Had I imagined it? Most likely. I realised it was morning and stood up to get ready. I thought, the only way to get my mind off of her right now, would be to get some bloody work done. So that's what I did.

Thomas' POV.

Personally, I was really worried about Newt, but as the days progressed he did seem to take control of himself a bit more. About a week after the incident and Hannah was still lying in the medical hut, but she was fighting. We hadn't taken many trips into the Maze since she was stung but we couldn't just stop. Not when we were so close. I called a meeting at the council hall to decide what to do next. Weather we all go in and chance that small 'exit' we found, or just two of us.

"Look, I just wanna get out of this place! Who else is with me!" Chuck yelled and received many cheers in response.

"Yeah but it's not that easy is it!" Gally retaliated sternly. "What if it's a trap? Minho, you said yourself that you stood in something to do with the greivers? What if that's where they go during the day!" He stared at Gally.

"Only one way to find out. Anyone who wants to come, be my guest." He said while storming out. A few people followed him. Isaac, Stephen, Winston, Sean and also a few others. I ran ahead of all the other lads, leaving Gally, and some other people, in the council hall.

"Okay so? What's the plan?" I asked as we walked quickly from one corner of The Glade, to the other.

"We leave." I registered what he just said then jumped in front of him placing my hand on his chest, forcing him to stop.

"What do you mean, we leave?" He leaned in towards my face.

"We... Leave. Simple." Minho pushed past me and carried on towards the Maze.

"We leave okay great idea-"

"I thought you wanted to go Thomas?"

"Well we can't just leave everyone here!" I yelled as we reached the open doors. Jade walked up behind us.

"He's right. Gally has quite a few people convinced that this will just end up with us all killed." I nodded and Minho frowned upon his plan.

"Fine. We'll go, find out what's there, then come back." I nodded. That was a much better idea. Minho called over Chris and said, "We might as well leave now." Jade nodded but I didn't really agree with this. I kind of had no choice though. Minho and Chris had already made it halfway down the entrance corridor so I had to be swift is I wasn't going to lose them. It didn't take us long to reach section 7 and all of the blades had fixed themselves so they were no longer touching.

"Great, so we have to make ANOTHER sprint when we're ready to leave." I groaned.

"What do you mean?" Chris asked but I just shook my head.

"Too much to explain, come on." Minho jumped in. We ran down the same corridor as the other day. After reaching the end and the stone door lifting up, we noticed the red light again.

"What the hell is that?" Chris questioned.

"Guess we find out now." I replied while climbing inside the small hole. After reaching the end with the key in hand, a red keypad came up on the wall. W.C.K.D flashed up on it then it turned into a circle with 8 numbers moving round it. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. "Eight numbers... Passcode?" We thought for a while before Minho finally figured it out.

"Sections of the Maze?"

"Let's try it." Mentioned Chris.

"No, it's too late." Minho quickly said. "We need to get back, we can leave tomorrow. The journey to this place takes up most of our time." If we wanted to get out of this place then we were going to have to do it in under a few hours. We headed back to The Glade, barely making it back in time. We were greeted by Newt, Jade and Chuck.

"Well?" Newt asked.

"Yep." I answered.

"Okey so when do we go?" Chuck asked anxiously.

"Tomorrow."

"Oh crap, I better pack my bags!" He ran to the homestead as we all made our way to the canteen. After tea I decided I needed to have a talk with Jade. We hadn't sat down and spoken in a long time, also I felt the need to bring up a certain topic...

Newt's POV.

After tea, I made my way back over to the medical hut. I hadn't been able to visit every day as we got our new set of supplies that the box brings up every fortnight and it was my job to sort it all out. I opened the door to Hannah's room and as soon as I did, I saw Clint sitting next to her with a stethoscope, listening to her heartbeat.

"Clint..." I said daintily. He turned his head round fast and when he saw me a slight smile crept on his face.

"She's okay." He said calmly. I ran over to her side and picked up her hand. I kissed it many times before Clint put his hand on my shoulder. "She's in probably the best place for her right now." Hearing that made me panic and throw as many questions at him as possible.

"What do you mean?! Is she okay? Will she wake up!" After about 6 frantic questions Clint finally found the time to talk.

"She's fine. She's asleep and dreaming, but don't wake her up."

"Why not?" I was confused. That was the main thing I wanted to do. I wanted to talk to her, badly. I needed to hear her voice.

"She could go into shock." That confused me even more.

"Is she in a coma?.."

"No but she is suffering from sleep paralysis. If you try to wake her up she can go into shock from realisation that she cannot move." Why was Clint the posh one?

"English please?" I said sassily.

"She can't move and if she wakes up suddenly as realised that by trying to move, she can have a panic attack or go into shock." I liked it better when I couldn't understand what he was saying.

"So how long do I need to wait?" I asked impatiently.

"Until she's ready. She'll wake up in her own time, but you can still stay with her and speak to her. She can hear you remember." She could hear me... Thank god. Clint left and I began saying everything and anything I could think of. I wasn't trying to wake her up, but I was trying to get her to hear my voice so much that she'd instinctively wake up and look for my voice. I counted the hours. Minutes. Even seconds. She slept all afternoon. Until around 11pm. My head was rested next to Hannah's hand when I felt her stirring. I thought it was my imagination, but I felt her gentle hand placed on my head.

"Hello handsome."
