Newt's POV.

When we got up and dressed that morning, I ran out to get Jeff so he could just give Hannah a quick check. He looked at me with a positive smile on his face.

"See? I told you my little fighter." She laughed and gave me a quick kiss.

"Don't do any work today, just sit and relax. You both need it." Jeff was right. I was so stressed lately and seeing my one like this just made it worse.

"Same as always?" She asked, as wee left the medical hut hand in hand.

"You bet." We headed straight for the forest. I never did like calling it the deadheads. It sounded too scary for a lovely, calm place like this. We sat on the log and Hannah leaned on me.

"Hey... Newt? Can I ask you something?" She asked. She sounded quite dainty?

"Of course love! Anything at all."

"What would you do if u wasn't here right now?.." My jaw dropped and I felt my face go so pale. I couldn't think of an answer.

"I... Uh... Why?" Was all I got out.

"Because... I don't know..."

"You don't mean like..." My eyes glazed over.

"No! God no! I love you too much you should know I'd never let you go!"

"I was just scared over what you were talking about! I didn't understand." I sighed.

"No... I mean, the other way..." I thought about what she meant. Then It hit me.

"No. I'm not letting you. If you die then so do I." She placed her hand over my lap.

"I don't mean it as a case of wanting to love..." She rubbed her hand up and down my arm. "I mean... Having to."

"How though..." I was almost crying. I couldn't stand the thought of life without her.

"The wall..." I instantly had memories of my third month in The Glade. I'd gotten so scared by my amnesia and the whole situation was scaring me too bad. I remembered the wall and how high off the floor I was. I remembered seeing all the faces of the other boys beneath me, and how they yelled to me telling me not to do it. But I had to. I took my foot off the wall and fell. I fell from the top of the ivy that grew up the west wall. It was the highest ivy even though it only reached up half the size of the wall.

"That's how I got my limp." I told her the story. "Please don't do it. It didn't help me in anyway."

"Well you were lucky to be alive!" She answered.

"I know... I just don't want you doing that either..."

"Well. Newt..." She stopped herself. "I don't want to-"

"No love listen to me right now." I grabbed her face with both my hands. "You have to, okay? If you left then what am I supposed to do? I'd have no one else to care about. No one else to care about me."

"But the others-"

"I don't mean in that way. I'd have no one else to love." I brought her in for a long and lingering kiss. Ass she pulled away she kept her eyes shut and licked her lips. She bit her bottom lip as she tilted her head towards the floor and nodded.

"It just hurts..."

"I know it does babe. I know." I pulled her in for a hug and chuckled. "Newt likes your cuggles." She smiled into my chest and held me tighter. I never wanted to let go.
