Chapter 24: "Your Not Going In There."

When I saw Newt I couldn't contain myself. Yeah, it definitely hadn't been long since I last saw him but right now I just wanted to hug him and never let go.

"Love, I've got something to tell you." I told him.

"Come on then." He took my hand and led me over to by the fire. "Here okay?" He asked. I nodded and he leaned on to listen close. I told him about my dreams about the walls becoming more recent and about the one I had before.

"Newt, I think it means something..."

"But what?" He asked.

"I don't know... But I think our answer is through there." I pointed towards the Maze. "I've just got a really bad feeling about tomorrow... I don't think Jade should go."

"She'll have Thomas and Minho? Everything will be fine, trust me." He rubbed his hand up and down my arm in a reassuring way. This time though, it didn't comfort me.

"Newt... I have to go with them." His expression was unexplainable.

"No..." He shook his head. "Your not going in there."

"Why? I'll have Thomas and Minho AND Jade!"

"Not after last time. What if you all didn't make it back? You said yourself you feel like you've been watched lately, what if it's by something in the Maze?"

"Then there's only one way to find out." I stood up and left him sitting there. He just stared into the fire, thinking. I walked over to Minho. "Hey bud, can I ask you something?" He put his drink down on the bar.m

"Hit me." I raised my arm and he flinched. He put both his hands up to hide himself. "NOT LITERALLY!" I laughed.

"Whoops, sorry." I said sarcastically. "Anyway, about tomorrow..."

"Yeah, yeah I know. Jade is coming." He picked up his drink and took a swig.

"I am too." He spat it out on the floor.

"What?" He coughed.

"I'm coming too okay? Okay." I went to walk away but he grabbed my forearm.

"No your not!" He threw back at me.

"Why? Why Minho? We all know the more people out there at the same time, the better the chance of getting out of here!" He grabbed both my shoulders firmly and told me straight to my face. Quietly though.

"There is no way out! We can't leave..." I looked away from him. He sighed deeply. "Follow me..." He brought a torch as we walked through the forest towards a small hut just over a bridge crossing the river. He opened the door and walked in, leaving me outside. "You coming or not?" He said. I followed him inside and shut the door behind me. Minho walked over and locked it.

"What are you doing?" I asked, worriedly.

"No one is supposed to know what's in here. But I trust you to keep it in here, understand?" I nodded, not knowing what he was talking about. "Good." He finished, and turned around to a large table with a huge white cloth on it. He pulled the cloth away and threw it to the floor. "This is the Maze..."
