I shivered at the thought of this, but it brought back a memory that I did not recognise. This part of the dream was what scared em the most, what caused me to fall. Taking a deep breath, I carried on my story.
"I fell backwards from the force of the hands, but the one that was pushing me the most was yours..." I turned to Newt but he was not looking at me. Jade placed her hand on my shoulder and gave me a reassuring look. It started to get light but I needed to carry on. "My head crashed through the floor and my body was engulfed in water. I sank further down into the vast sea of liquid. Thing is, this didn't feel like normal water? It felt somewhat... Colder." Thomas gave me an unsteady look.
"What do you mean?" He asked, confusion covered his face.
"I don't mean temperature, I mean... Like the feeling? Like in a more emotional way. I recognised what it was as I saw faces in front of my eyes, playing like a flip book. I was sinking through tears. Tears of everyone that had died before my very eyes before. The faces of the boys suddenly stopped and I opened my eyes to find myself meters deep in this 'ocean'. I didn't try to swim back up though. I just accepted my fate. But then I saw a figure dive in above me. A face getting closer and closer to my defeated body. A hand reached out for mine and I reached for it. The face pulled itself closer to mine and I shuddered. "Newt!" I said whilst water entered my mouth and I coughed for air.
"WICKED is bad!" I heard him say before I blacked out. Next thing I knew, I was dangling off the branch of the tree in the dead of the night." Newt looked at me for the first time in hours.
"Bad?" He asked. "You've had other dreams like that haven't you?" I nodded. "And every time, someone said WICKED is 'good', not 'bad'?" I recalled that moment again. He was right?
"So why were you different?" Jade asked, staring at him. He shrugged.
"I don't know? I... I definitely don't recognise it? Other than the fact it's on ALL of our supplies when the box comes up." There was a long moment of silence before I broke it.
"What could that mean?"
"Which?" Thomas asked.
"My dream... Why would I have a dream like that? It feels like it's related to all my other ones... The tanks, the faces, the saying... W.C.K.D... WICKED is good, and now WICKED is bad?" Newt put his arm round my shoulder and squeezed it reassuringly.
"Come on love, the more you think about it, the more stressed out your gonna get. Let's go back." Jade and Thomas both nodded and I leaned into Newt as we stood up. My legs were numb and my feet had pins and needles. I fell into him, my eyes feeling drowsy. "Woah! You okay?" He asked, trying to stand me back up. "Hannah?" I didn't respond. "Hannah!" His voice got more panicked as I felt my eyes close. He laid me down on a bed of grass and lent over me. "What's wrong! Wake up! PLEASE!" I felt a tear drop from his face and onto mine as my eyes drifted shut.
Newt's POV.
It happened so suddenly. She just fell into me and I thought she was only tired, but it seems there was much more going on that none of us could see. Tears dripped off my face and onto hers as I begged for her to open her eyes.
"Help me!" I balled to Thomas. He rushed over and picked up her legs and Jade supported her body as I held her torso and head. "You gonna be fine, you have to be!" I cried as we ran for medical hut. She said she didn't wanna go back there, but we had no choice. She could've been dying. Maybe she was... I kicked the door open and Clint shot a stare at me. "Clint! Help!" I yelled as he rushed into the nearest room and threw covers on the bed.
"Jeff! Here now!" He yelled and he rushed through the door. "What happened?"
"I don't know! She just like, fainted." I knelt down next to her and squeezed her hand in mine. "Please be okay..." Clint checked her blood and heart rate.
"Her pulse is low. Jeff, check her over." he said. Then I remembered about her sting. Something must've came back. I lifted her top and noticed the mark on her stomach had worsened.
"Oh no..." Jeff whispered. It was throbbing and looked like it needed IMMEDIATE attention. "Newt, you have to go!" He told me sternly.
"I'm NOT going anywhere!" I retaliated. He looked at me more forceful and concerned than ever.
"Newt. GO NOW!" His voiced raised to a point which shocked me. I stared him dead in the eyes and yelled at the top of my voice,
"NO!" I think Hannah heard my voice as she twitched in her 'sleep'. I rushed to her side as Jeff took deep breaths, trying to calm down. He glared at Thomas and Jade as to tell them to leave as well. They instantly obliged.
"Just leave him, your not going to win." Clint told him. He was fucking right. She began twitching a lot more, then it turned to fidgeting, then squirming. I brought her hand to my lips as Jeff tried to restrain her.
"Shh baby, I'm here." She didn't calm down. Clint ran to the other side of the room where a table stood and he picked up a syringe. Bringing it over to her, he injected it into her side. She still didn't calm down.
"Clint, it's not working..." Jeff said, shaking his head in worry. I started to panic.
"Wha-what do you mean? What do you mean it's not working! TELL ME NOW!" My blood was literally boiling. Jeff's looked at me as Clint tried other medication.
"She's not responding Newt. I'm sorry." His hand rested on my forearm. "Preparer for the worst." I swung my head back to Hannah as Jeff joined Clint. Tears rushed down my cheeks and I replayed his words over and over again in my head. 'Prepare for the worst'... No... This couldn't be possible...
